Service - good. As the crowd grew the service did get rather slow. The server chatted with us about our likes and dislikes to determine the cocktail that was right for our taste. Cocktails - no complaints. Over a couple of hours we had a selection of drinks. They were all very good. Although, I thought my manhattan had a bit too much sweet vermouth - still good, just a little too sweet. Overall - definitely, highly recommended. Beuys is a nice contrast to the usual drinking of Alt in the pubs.

However don't be scared of the Blende, if you don't feel like a rocker or if you younger than the average guest. Especially the bartenders at Blende are very nice to everyone. And they are fast, too. While in most pubs in Düsseldorf you will wait forever for your beer, this is not the case at Blende. They also have a pool table and darts. And they show football games on TV, whenever there is one.

I stopped by on a Saturday early evening when it was raining, so there wasn't much of a crowd, but my sources tell me it's usually really busy. it's tucked away in a residential neighborhood, but I highly recommend this to anyone going out for an evening in the nearby area. Note: every alcoholic drink is priced at €8, so it's super easy to calculate your tab or split among friends. That's right, even your super-boozy Long Islands are just €8.

However if you don't know what I'm talking about, and you just love juicy and creamy cocktails, you will love the Bar Alexander. The bar is rather small and cozy and at the weekend evenings it gets pretty full. So if you intend to go there with a larger group, either be early or make a reservation.
