Luckily, most of the stores are undercover so we weren't troubled although anyone buying fresh fruit or veggies today would not need to rinse them as this stall is located on the market's edge. We came specifically for a breakfast catch up and shared a delicious bacon & egg gap, a chai from Cosset and some oh so sugary and delicious donuts from Scratch Bakers. Other treats on offer included bagels from Toasty Bagels paired with salads from a Deli stand, pies at scratch bakers and coffee & smoothies from Sprout, which is the permanent cafe on site. Shopping options included fresh & smoked seafoods, cured meats from Salash Delicatessen and some of the freshest fruits & veggies I've seen in a while. With Miss Maggies dog treats on sale and the lovely La Femme Fleur flower truck on site, the Mt Albert market has everything you need on Saturday morning, except the newspaper. Wish I lived closer!

There's a reasonable amount of seating and the majority of the market is under cover so come rain or shine it's a great Sat morning activity!

The cheap clothing drew my attention but I was aiming for produce only, so kept my blinkers on. I picked up some herbs for 99c each, handfuls of winter vegies for some hearty soup making and ample fruit to sweeten us up! I couldn't pass up the Asian sweet treat of glutinous rice rolled in sesame seeds, 3 large ball in a packet for $3.50, that will be morning tea taken care of! Hmmm...what else do I want?...free range eggs!...up and down all the open market isles, anyone? Free range eggs, anyone? - Nope, not you two shifty looking fella's, I bought "free range eggs" from you before and they were watery-pale-weird-things that barely resembled food... ok, so no eggs, but bags of other yummy stuff!

This is a cool place to come for a bargain and is the ultimate Auckland market representing our city's multi cultural flavor. I love the fresh veggies and come away with bags of seasonal produce with loads of Asian and other ethnic fruits and vegetables. The racecourse carpark comes alive from 6am with stall holders and market goers. I'm a once-in-a-whiler but could imagine lots of people come here every week to shop. Your cash goes a long way here. There is no end to the stalls on offer from tshirts to jewellery, toys to tools. Such a bargain! And there are of course food stalls galore.

The aisles and set up are standard pak n save but the difference with this one is that they are big. You are able to shop without awkwardly coughing to let the person in front of you know that they need to get out the way. You are able to shop without playing trolley wars with the person next to you. My other fave thing about Pak n Save Lincoln Road is the values aisle at the front of the entrance into the supermarket. You always find things that you wouldn't usually think of buying. You end up with a trolley full of cheap marshmallows and jam! These come in handy on a rain day. The fact that it is the biggest Pak n Save means it can accommodate so much more including the English food section, a bigger bakery that actually serves fresh pies, a deli section with much more than ham, plus a seafood section that cleans your fish for you! What else could you ask for in a supermarket.
