He's experienced, and has a backup plan for every scenario, which made us feel very confident in him. - Brian was very easy going and open to suggestions during our engagement shoot. He made us feel much less awkward than we did going in. - Our wedding day was a blast and Brian and our second shooter (Luke) went with the flow for the sudden weather changes (which made our planned outdoor locations less than ideal) and were quick to adapt for every lighting scenario in our mostly dark venue. They made everyone feel at ease, even this high-strung-but-trying-to-be-chill bride. Brian and Luke got some amazing shots and did some really awesome edits / tricks with lighting which made for some very memorable photos. (We've gotten a lot of compliments!) - We got previews of our photos and the photos themselves very quickly after the wedding (within a month we had all the photos digitally, and only a couple weeks after that we had our little highlight video). And we received a thumb drive in the mail with all our images as well. - The Video Fusion add-on is something I'm so glad we decided to do with Brian. While we didn't want to pay for a full videographer, the video fusion gave us a four minute little highlight reel to capture the joy of the day in such a cool way.

Brian was flexible and accommodating throughout! Family was running late because of snow - no problem, he popped out to see his grandmother for a bit and then came back. The surroundings in the activity room were less than glamorous - no problem, he figured out shots that did not accentuate the flowered carpet. Some family members were having trouble because of the large numbers of people in the activity room - no problem, he took pictures out in the hallway. He even hung out and ate soup after the pictures were done AND agreed to pose in a picture with my aunt (which I took and made the final cut!). Joanna's photography style is all encompassing without being over bearing. She made the photography part of the day 100% non-stressful. Everything I wanted captured from our wedding was photographed without ever having to ask. She made clear that between her and her assistant, the day would be covered--there was no need to ever track down the photographer when you wanted something captured. Her hands-off, blend-into-the-scene style resulted in many quality candid shots. The day of the wedding I was already getting compliments from people on her style and work during the day. Her work on the standard church ceremony and family shots were beautifully done. I chose to let her choose what proportion to do as color vs. black and white, and was pleased with her selections. Given the number of pictures you get back, most series (vows, family, toasts, cake, etc) had both color and b/w pictures. Joanna was more than just accommodating of our winter wedding--she was excited for it! She did some recon the week before the wedding to find some great outdoor locations and good snow cover and lake shots to make the pictures the day of the wedding perfect, without having to hunt for them the day of. She left the choice of going outside entirely up to us, and was willing to stay outside and trek through the snow for as long as we chose. I appreciated that the payment schedule is broken up in three, with money due on signing the contract, just before the wedding, and when the photographs are completed. We had our photographs finished and delivered to us within 4 weeks of the wedding. We do not have our photographs in digital or online format, which seems to be more of a concern for out of town family looking to order than it is for us. Overall, I could not be more pleased with the quality of the work, especially for the low price we paid.

Not only did my son enjoy the experience, but he had photos taken with his car--in the snow--that look as though they were taking in the summer with a setting sun. While I questioned the cost of the prints, I found out that these are not your average picture. The larger prints are on a thick, almost cardboard paper that can be used without glass over them. They are absolutely beautiful. I recommend booking early, and then paying in installments or with paypal credit. You won't be disappointed!

I was able to book several weeks in advance and lock in a time for an outside shoot. In terms of the studio, the place is very cozy and the "dressing room" area even features R+Co Hair Products which are awesome! Jessica is an excellent photographer and the outside session has fun and nicely paced. Afterwards, we went back up to choose the ones I'd like to keep and have as final products.
