I arrived early and was greeted at front desk in a friendly manner. Doing paperwork was straightforward on a tablet. I saw Dr. Brandon Naing. Lovely, he took his time talking to me and explaining things. He did not rush, which I find to be one of the most annoying things at doctors office. He was thorough and listened to my concerns. X-rays were taken immediately there, results and next steps all within 15 minutes. I was actually out of the office before my actual appointment time. Sweet deal! The waiting room was on the smaller side and clean at the Bellemore location.

copying & pasting my google review here so more people are warned…read more do not come here for bunion surgery. read that as many times as you need so you can save yourself. dr lee was my surgeon. what i thought was a confident attitude during consultations was actually carelessness. he did the bunion surgery on me over a year ago. i have been in pain ever since. i complained that the pain was not improving for MANY months. he would shrug (even saying "huh" "im confused" "i don't know what's going on" etc, verbatim) and send me off to PT, where the pain still did not go away & problems worsened. he preferred to talk to me about my personal life instead of the worsening pain i was experiencing. go figure. now, i have several complications, unable to move forward with my life, barely able to walk, my other foot developing problems from compensating, and in constant pain. i am crippled. i am in more pain now than before the surgery. i actually miss having the bunion. i'm likely looking at a revision surgery. never again at livingston though. i would give 0 stars if i could. again, whatever you do, do NOT come here for bunion surgery.

Extremely Disappointed -- Would Not Recommend…read more My experience with Dr. Michael D. Livingston at Livingston Podiatry in Bellmore has been extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend him based on my experience. At my first appointment, I was given the impression that there were multiple surgical options available to address my severe bunions and the associated pain and ligament damage. I left that appointment feeling hopeful that there was actually a path toward a long-term solution, including surgery to correct the deformity and straighten the toes. I subsequently purchased his expensive custom orthotics. At my next appointment, however, the conversation had completely changed. I was told that the orthotics were essentially the solution and that I should continue using them, even though my underlying problems are not simply a matter of foot positioning. I was also encouraged to pursue injections and other temporary treatments. What concerns me most is the lack of consistency. I was initially led to believe that surgery was an option, only to later be told that I am not a surgical candidate and that surgery could actually make my pain worse. If someone with severe bunions, deformity, pain, and documented ligament issues isn't considered a surgical candidate, I'm honestly not sure who is. I was essentially left with the recommendation to keep managing the problem with orthotics, Cortisone injections, and additional footwear. I was even told that I should have orthotics in multiple pairs of shoes and purchase house shoes so I could wear them around the house. I don't consider having to wear supportive shoes essentially all day, every day -- especially when the orthotics themselves are uncomfortable -- to be an acceptable permanent solution. From my perspective, it felt like I was being moved from one temporary treatment to another rather than being given a clear plan to actually address the underlying problem. I cannot speak to anyone else's experience, but my experience left me feeling that the focus was more on continued treatments and purchases than on providing me with a definitive solution. It also left me concerned that the initial discussion of surgery may have been intended to gain my trust, while the actual plan was to keep me on an ongoing treatment program involving repeated monthly injections and other billable services rather than address the underlying problem and bring my treatment to a conclusion. I felt that the emphasis was on maintaining me as a continuing patient and billing my insurance over time, rather than fixing the problem and allowing me to move on. After speaking with him further, I also no longer felt confident in his ability to perform the type of corrective surgery I was seeking. After this experience, I would not feel comfortable having Dr. Livingston perform surgery on me, even if he ultimately offered it. I strongly recommend getting a second or even third opinion before committing to expensive orthotics, repeated injections, or a long-term treatment plan. I wish I had done that from the beginning.

That immediately started my healing and I was able to walk out of the office without limping - something I had not been able to do for a week. Last podiatrist I had been to after Dr. Fryman kept charging for all kinds of BS including things that were not necessary, added huge charges to simple things like show inserts (doubled the price). Dr. Jackalone did not push anything on me and I was thrilled. I'm glad I came back to their office after several years away and I will keep coming back.

For example, several years ago she measured my feet for custom inserts to treat my plantar fasciitis. She also injected pain medication into my feet (ouch!) to provide temporary relief. Thanks to her care, I eventually fully recovered. I've also seen other podiatrists at this practice during emergency visits when Dr. Papathomas wasn't available. Like her, they are highly skilled and clearly explained their diagnoses.
