The lead teachers here Faith, Michelle and Dana, have been wonderful and creative. I see all the fun crafts that the students create that help them learn their letters, numbers, shapes, seasons, phonics etc. I am so pleased with how my son has learned so many different things, both academically and socially. I have even had personal conversations with the teachers about being a new mom and have received heartfelt, godly and wise ideas about raising children. CCS has been a safe, godly haven for me to place my only son while I go to work all day. In addition, I hosted international students and have seen how the teachers work very hard to personally help the students who struggle in their school work. They would contact me and talk to me about my student and when I requested that they address certain issues my student had, they would do it in an encouraging way. I see how the high school teachers go out of their way to make their classes interesting and relevant, yet academically challe.

Meg, the Director, has been so patient with our 4 year old who is very new to a school environment. My husband and I have even found ourselves saying, "What would Meg do right now?" if we're in a tough parenting moment. You can tell she truly cares about her students and respects each of their individual needs. For example, our son has some sensitivity to sensory stimulus. Meg and the teachers have been understanding of his needs and have gone to great lengths to work out ways to make his experience as comfortable as possible. His first week of school went better than we could ever have anticipated due to the outstanding care he received. There were lots of updates throughout the first few days to let us know how he was doing, and if he was struggling with something (or really missing home at certain times of the day) we'd work out a plan for the following day to help him through it. Each week the parents/caregivers receive a recap of how the week went for all the students. In it we read about what the children learned and discussed so we can expand on it at home and get a dialogue going. There are also cute photos attached so you can see the kids in action! The school itself is so lovely. So much thought and care has been put into the kinds of toys, art supplies, books and gym equipment that are provided for children. The backyard is also a child's wonderland! A mud station, trees to climb, chickens to run around with, a sand pit to play in and swings to hang from are there so the kids can be creative, move their bodies and have a blast! My husband and I really wanted to find a school where free play is top priority, inclusivity is embraced and social emotional tools are taught. We have definitely found it at PPP.

This school teaches religion in that way, through principles of love, we can pretty much all agree on. That being said even without the church side of things this is a great school. I researched every public and private school, went to many many open houses, chose a charter school with one of the best reputations in town, before abandoning that dumpster fire after a single year. The difference in the quality of education between the charter school and Trinity is stark. This is the sort of A+ education I got in a small town for free when I was a kid, but I am ever so grateful to find in Portland. And for the cherry on top of the cake, it is affordable!!

The coveted charter school was closed and barely functioning. Months went by. As working parents the situation felt completely chaotic. Enter Trinity, the principal was and is warm and welcoming in every interaction. The virtual learning was far more engaging and enriching the we could have ever imagined. Our daughter is glued to the class even via zoom which still astonishes me 3 months in. The school was able to safely, efficiently, and calmly (yes legally) incorporate in person learning sessions in small groups. They are on point and have quickly and efficiently risen to the occasion of educating during the pandemic. And to my original point, they are the most affordable private school in town and we wouldn't dream of taking our daughter anywhere else.
