G Force Architectural Conrete - ACO Drains with concrete on grills

    G Force Architectural Conrete

DO NOT USE Paul Gaughan from GForce Architectural Concrete…read more I decided to use GForce following my visits to their other jobs provided by Paul Gaughan and reading the reviews on this site. It was mid-December 2020 when I agreed to proceed following the receipt of a quote from Paul. He asked about colours of concrete and booking a date as he had 15th January open. To do so I needed to pay him 10% deposit upfront which I did. He then asked if he could start work earlier, I agreed and as per payment schedule, a further 40% was paid. Works started on 8th January where the front of my drive was cleared as well as the existing front wall. Hard core rubble had been partially spread. From here on is when delays began to occur, with one excuse after another. Granted that bad weather also affected the timeline which I took into account however whenever there was decent dry weather Paul did not even turn up whilst working on other jobs. Paving work was done at the back of my property and eventually concreting started at the rear patio on 6th March 2021. My recently rendered white walls were left in a terrible state. Paul guaranteed that these would be cleaned once they are jet-washed. Clearly there are visible marks on walls from the colouring used as well as splashed concrete onto the rendered wall. A further 40% payment was demanded immediately and seeing the work progressing I paid. It was not until 24th March that he dropped Kevin (one of his employees) to start building the front wall. This has been partially finished, with the exception of pillars on 5th April. On this same day, Paul calls to demand payment for the wall claiming this was extra work not quoted for. Fortunately, I retained a copy of the quote and our exchanges via Whats App to confirm my version. Paul was trying to extort even more money from me. From then on, he came to collect his tools and equipment and only came to my property once to do some preparation work for less than 2 hours on 20th April 2021. Excuses have ranged from bad weather to staff not wanting to work as well as theft from his unit however it is now 18th June 2021 and despite multiple promises, Paul has not returned to complete the unfinished work. After paying 90% of the money to Paul, I have not see any indication of when he plans to complete the work as well as correct a number of items highlighted on the work done so far. Save yourself the stress/trouble/money I have been going through over the last 7 months and avoid G-Force Architectural Concrete like a plague. I heard so many lies (promises to finish the work, call me later/next day) from Paul that it is hard not to portrait him as anything other than a rogue/cowboy trader. He has forced me to take legal action to recover monies paid in advance (foolish of me to trust him) and employing a reputable contractor to finish the work Paul has left. I have now learnt that he has done exactly the same to other people in Leicester. Trading Standards will be informed of my case as well as other customers Paul has obtain money by deceit.

Had Stuart out 5 years ago to imprint a large front side and rear drive. All of it has cracked…read more I've asked him a couple if times to fix it. He sent a guy once who made it look worse than before. I have packed and back filled 3 drain covers as these were done really poorly. The shoddy installation of below specification drainage channels has led to the channels collapsing which was only discovered after the aggregate underneath had been washed into the foul drains and caused a huge back up of poo. Which is the word that best describes the quality of installation. It's not a complicated process and it's as easy to do it right as it is to do it wrong- if you can be bothered. Would not recommend- steer clear

Disappointing. One…read moreof the things they didn't tell me in the sales pitch was that a centimeter wide 'gash' would be cut through my driveway to allow for expansion. I knew nothing about this until I came out and saw the damn thing, this gash was cut right through the pattern and is horribly obvious (the only saving grace is that my car is often parked over it). They filled it with clear silicone, no attempt was made to even match up the colour of the driveway. They made an ungodly mess of my newly rendered walls while throwing the colour onto the concrete, most has washed off but some areas will have to have the paint touched up. Again, during the sales process no mention as to how the colour is applied and that my walls and garage (and the inside because they left the doors open) would be covered in grey powder. The concrete on the kerbing adjacent to the road has crumbled and cracked in places, less than 2 months after being laid. I found litter (drink cans, half eaten sandwiches and wrappings) thrown into the hedgerows opposite my home where they had been parked. They failed to rope off the driveway (the full length of which is open to the road) as a result someone reversed over it and damaged the wet seal. This then had to be re-done, but it was only me refusing to pay the final balance that got them there to do it, I then had to borrow some barriers off a neighbour to ensure I didn't have a repeat of the 'reversing incident' because again they failed to rope off the area. There are three inspection covers on the driveway, they managed to lose the screws for one, and therefore has not been screwed back into place. Although to be fair it does seem secure. I was told this work was guaranteed, I've asked for the documents for this but nothing has been forthcoming. On the plus side the driveway does look a lot better than it was and I'm no longer dragging gravel into the house, into the car and garage, but I have to be careful not to look too closely at the finish.
