The staff were all super friendly and the waitress knew every local by name and greeted them all. She was just as friendly to me and brought coffee in a Harley mug as she saw me pull in on mine. This is definitely biker friendly with a nicely paved lot. The Mickie omelette was outstanding and the smaller version was just right for me. The toast they use is some of the best I've ever had. It feels weird to give a shout out to wheat bread, but it's deserved. This will be a must stop for future trips through the area. While it may look a little tired on the outside, what happens inside is well worth the stop.

My favorite dishes are chilled gazpacho (in the summer), their yummy quiche, and their great Asian soup). If you're not free to lunch there or need provisions for a picnic, they have to-go containers and prepackaged slices of quiche, soup, sandwiches, etc. in the cooler at the back of the store. The Co-op produces bakery goods daily, and I especially like their olive bread. I also visit the Co-op to purchase many difficult to find items, such as specialty cheeses (e.g., fresh mozzarella, Jarlsberg Swiss, aged Irish cheddar, etc.) and imported olives. Seating is limited. There are three tables in the front of the store near the self-serve food service area, and another at the back of the store. Figuring out how the self-service works can take a moment, but the folks that work there are friendly and willing to explain the process. One warning: they don't tag their pastries to show the date they are baked, so ask before purchasing to make sure what you're buying is fresh.

The children's books were $5 and we got some great hardcovers for that price, but also got some more beat up and smaller books for the same price. I recommend the trip in!

Yet, the motel desk clerk says there is a food truck still open. Wearily, we take a chance. Guy was really friendly, happy personality. See menu items. My wife got the chicken sandwich expecting something like what you find a burger king result. Other people in our party get the burger and I got the BBQ pork. After a 15 min wait, the food was hot and ready. Back at the motel, we open our order. The crispy fried chicken for the sandwich was huge, about as big as my xl hands. The burger was colossal, and my BBQ pork was thick and meaty with an excellent smoked seasoning. We could only finish 1/2 our sandwiches eating the fries also. The fries were just a little over cooked. The sweet potato fried were cooked to perfection. Yet, I was disappointed with the coleslaw. I am extremely picky on this item, so few places get my endorsement. In comparison, I don't like Red Robin's coleslaw either. Other travelers might just love his version. But the sandwiches made up the difference. The little town gems like Fat Guys make traveling fun and experiences.
