The site is a mixture of caravans and tents. Despite turning up on spec, we were given a warm greeting and were quickly checked in. We had arrived on bikes, which they didn't mind at all. The toilet blocks are immaculate. The site is a short walk into Keswick which has plenty of restaurants and a couple of supermarkets - Spar is by far cheaper thn Booths. This site is a little gem. Very quiet. Not for the party crowd.

The staff are very knowledgeable and as well as advising you on the best purchase for you, they will also offer you information on where you can go and try out your new equipment locally. They have a large range of walking boots and even have pretend hills for you to walk up and down to ensure your fit is right! They also have a cafe which offers a welcome rest from the cold outdoors.

After sales service is excellent. I recently had difficulty fitting newly purchased microspikes to my boots. I emailed the shop and in spitee of lockdown, Mr Rathbone immediately contacted me with helpful fitting advice and offered to change them if I still had difficulty.
