The lumpy carpet desperately needs to be replaced or stretched in the hallways, the exterior needs to be washed down and de-spiderwebbed (maybe toss on some paint too?), they need more help at the front desk during the busy times, and I could go on. We were in the main part of the lodge this time. People were constantly lingering on the stairs. The door to our suite didn't even feel secure or safe, it jiggled on the hinges even when locked and bolted. We could hear every single noise coming from the hallway at all hours of the night. The lodge has SO MUCH POTENTIAL and incredible views, but it is straight-up out of the 70s/80s and not in a fun or nostalgic way. The bed was comfy, I will give them that. And there is a lot of stuff to do around the lodge campus; pools, spa, golf, restaurants, live music, and movies. We didn't partake because we honestly didn't expect much. So, it may be surprisingly glorious... but we didn't take a chance. We checked out 2 nights early from our weeks stay. Because we paid in advance, we did not get any sort of refund. I guess this is okay, we just went to stay with family, so it was all good. We had so totally hoped for a better experience. Sadly, we had a worse one. Please fix this place up! It could be magical if given the right ingredients and love.

There was really nothing out here for the longest time. But they had money and if they built it, they would come. So I came. It was nice. I can't say that I've been on my golf courses, nor can I say I really play golf. But I can say I've been swinging a club on the golf course at a little ball, drinking as i advanced. I never kept score and I didn't care. It's a nice little thing, this golf course, out in the middle of nowhere.

I couldn't believe it was still possible to entertain a group of 5 for a couple hours for under 15$! We play 8 holes of putt-putt and then after the miniature golf, checked out the batting cages. The kids said it was the best part of the day! They didn't even notice that the facility is worn down and not as grand as others might be. For such a great price, I didn't either. The food was average, but it took nearly an hour to get our waters and our order into the kitchen, and then another hour to get our food. One of the orders was incorrect, but we didn't want to wait another hour for them to remake it. There were 2 groups other patrons in the restaurant and one dude at the bar, so the restaurant was not packed. There was no excuse for the poor service, inaccurate order, and slow kitchen.
