Middleton Shopping Centre is an old, run-down mall in the town centre of Middleton (a town in…read moreManchester), it's been becoming worse and worse every year now, to the point actually having to visit here feels like a chore. The set-up and management of the mall is terrible, after a certain time you have to buzz in to get in when only the gym and Health Center are open, and I've been made to wait outside in the cold and the rain ignored, the bell just doesn't seem to be monitored all the time, which meant I was late to a medical appointment... this is a regular occurrence which has been going on since way before COVID. Very few branded stores are left now, there are stores from Wilko, Boots, EE and WHSmith (which includes a Post Office) and a Costa Coffee, many of which are brands which seem to be in 99% of towns anyway. The interior is boring and dated, it feels like it hasn't been improved in years, the whole vibe is depressing of a mall which was once OK which has fallen and continues to do so. It isn't even worth visiting as a Middleton resident, let alone from further afront. A real shame. 1*

Tesco is at walking distance in case you need more food. The market is just outside the centre, I was slightly disappointed with the amount of stalls but maybe some had already packed up. Will go earlier next time.

This Tesco store is located on Victoria Avenue and has good petrol prices however the only thing…read morewith that is that they have no kiosks and it is all pay at pump and the petrol station feels like you are in the middle of no where with just a large carpark surrounding it. This store is alot smaller than it looks as well, infact because of this I am suprised of the car parks size as it never appears full when I pass. One thing I don't like about this Tesco store is that because it is slightly smaller than other major stores the yogurts are with the frozen goods and things like that on the same isle, you can still do most of your weekly shop here but I just didn't like the long isles with Yogurts and Frozen Goods opposite each other. The staff seemed okay when I asked them where the Frozen free from range was but first he looked at me quite strange, which Is quite common when I asked for Gluten Free. Overall, this is a satisfactory Tesco but I would recommended going to the nearby Middleton branch instead. I don't understand why they have 2 stores of these sizes so close to each other, it is only a few minutes down the road and 1.5 miles away from the Middleton branch. Due to everything I have said I can only give this store 2 stores but it doesn't mean I will avoid it at all costs or tell someone to avoid at all costs.

This branch of Superdrug is quite a small store in the Middleton Shopping Centre, opposite WHsmith…read moreand next to Holland and Barrett, but I can't help but notice this place is both in need of a review with no reviews for 8 years, and all of them were written on Qype and actually seem to be for the branch in the Manchester Arndale based on the content in them, despite this listing being for the Middleton Shopping Centre, which is rather odd. Unlike the address on both Yelp, and the Superdrug website, this is only a small store over one floor in the Middleton Shopping Centre, it mainly stocks all your Superdrug essentials and that's about it, for example they have a small selection of drinks including Lipton Iced Teas, which seem to be available at most branches. This branch has a small range of fragrances and similar items. Superdrug had an interesting range of products, mainly specializing in health and beauty, I can't comment on the products in great lengths, as I wouldn't consider myself to have much knowledge in that field, but the range for a store of this size seemed okay, the range on some items such as drinks and fragrences were a little poor. The pricing on most items seemed competitive. In my opinion, this store is average and doesn't seem to go anymore than that, but due to its' size, and that it doesn't stand out as much as a place to shop in the Middleton Shopping Centre, I sadly feel it doesn't deserve more than two stars.

This particular store is a nice large one! Superdrug always have really good offers on things like…read moreshampoo and make up. They always have a great range of small gift ideas too. Their prices are very reasonable and 99% of the time they always have what you are looking for. I recommend this over many other high street stores mainly for their competitve pricing. Definetley the place to go for all your toiletries. I love their travel range, you can get a minature version of most things!!

Peacocks is a relatively small clothing store in the UK, with 388 stores. They are owned by…read moreEdinburgh Woolen Mill and have been since they entered administration in 2012, where over 200 stores were closed down, and over 3,000 jobs went but they still remain relatively successful now with stores outside the UK, including locations in Malta, Ukraine, UAE, Poland, Russia and Greece to name a few. Over the past few years, Peacocks has been rebranded as a value fashion store, but still doesn't stand out on the level that bigger name Primark does, especially with Primark enjoying fame in Manchester with a huge, warehouse size, 3 floor store in Manchester city center, which is probably the most reviewed shop I've seen on Yelp, other than the posh, well-known ones in London! Now back to the store in hand, this branch is located in the Middleton Shopping Centre, in quite a good location next to the exit to the bus station and opposite the new, relocated Heron Foods and Quality Save on the ground floor. This store has been in Middleton quite a few years now, and still doesn't seem to be as updated, to stand out with the moving technology, and even shops becoming nicer and more modern in the Middleton Shopping Centre, such as a good amount of shops relocating in the mall, or setting up shop alltogether, for example in the past year, the Middleton Shopping Centre now has a Costa Coffee and a Sports Direct, with both Heron Foods and Quality Save moving to better, bigger locations. This branch of Peacocks is okay, but it is pretty poor, it is quite a large store, but still most of it seems like junk, a jungle sale perhaps with no real order in the sense of where things should be, it appears a little cluttered. They did sell a few character T-shirts such as for the new Batman V Superman movie, but none of the clothing stood out to me as nice or fashionable and just seemed cheap, and low-quality, even worse than Primark perhaps. This store isn't terrible because let's face it, for a small town it's the best we've got and sadly probably ever will get, and due to it being one of the better shops for value range non-Sportswear in Middleton (We already have Sports Direct and Branded), I feel it does deserve two stars.

There always seems to be sales on in here (as with most places at the moment) so there are bargains to be had. They have a range of women's, men's and children's clothes all at reasonable prices. They stock lots of footwear and accessories for women as well. The store is one of the few in Middleton Arndale that is actually open on a Sunday!
