The store is well designed with a nice layout although they've taken the zoning approach dedicating clusters of space to each potential customer type (i.e womans, men's etc) and sometimes this actually works against the customer as sometimes you have trouble moving between the displays and even more so should you have a buggy with you) It's bright, well lit and tidy with nice window displays and a centrally located payment area. The staff are attentive, helpful and efficient.

Dorothy Perkins is situated in Bolton town centre on Deansgate on the same line of shops as Marks…read moreand Spencer and diagonally opposite Superdrug. There are pay and display car parks located around the town and the bus station is not too far away. The outside of the Dorothy Perkins store is attractive and the window displays are up to date and appealing. There is a Burtons store on the lower level of Dorothy Perkins too. The inside of the store is quite a good size and is clean, bright and well layed out to create space whilst still able to offer a good selection of fashion lines. There are shoes within store too and some seats around the shoe section. The store is large enough to have a good sized sale area without becoming too cramped and the sales are worth visiting. Prices are reasonable and the quality is good. There are changing rooms, these are a good size and clean. The checkouts are normally well staffed. Staff are very friendly, helpful and the atmosphere is nice. One of my favourite Dorothy Perkins stores and I would highly recommend this store.

The Bolton branch carries a decent range of the chains clothing including the 'Tall', 'Petité' and 'Maternity' wear. The prices are competitive and the quality has always been good. I have noticed lately that the general sizing and fit of clothing isn't as generous as it used to be but I expect this is a similar case across most of the older chains now. The ranges carries are both classic and contemporary with lines for work, play and partying.

What is different is that most clothes stores are independent business selling unique fashion items. This store sells high quality clothing for woman and child. It has a large shop full of dresses, jackets and pants. The prices are cheap and affordable and good quality too. There is no reason not to shop here, as you are going to save yourself loads of money and the money is cheap too.

I'm really bored of pound shops! But Peacocks isn't one, a good thing. What peacocks does is sell reasonably priced clothes that are of a good quality but in my opinion just not very exciting at all. Hey, I'm a massive budgeter and the only debt I've ever been in revolves around that darn student loan. So when we were doing 'okay', my friend and I decided that we should really boycott Primark. We'd had enough of the hell that comes with shopping there - the long queues, the prams being used as weapons, the stampeding scenesters, the screaming babies, the messy thrown-everywhere clothes. But where oh where would we get our cheap little essentials from? Prior to my friend's Spanish holiday, I took her into Peacocks (or 'Piceaux' as the brunette calls it. She has a nickname for everything that makes it sound cooler). She was impressed. She snapped up the little denim skirts she wanted along with strapless tops, all of which were very cheap... only slightly more expensive than Primark too. This branch of Peacocks is great because its location, right near TK Maxx and Poundland, seems so appropriate for its price range, and it's really done a good job with the display. Everything's easy to find and the window draws you in with brightly coloured coats and nicely put together outfits. It's a great place to grab those last little bits like flip-flops or party shoes, and I think the underwear selection is top notch. It also sells those invisible bras for only about £3. It might not have the same kind of high street reputation a lot of the clothing stores in the Arndale have, but do give Peacocks a try - you might get more than you bargained for.

Hurley's describes itself as a "family-owned business since 1955, and "the original sportswear shop in Manchester city centre" The store is easy to navigate with clear areas of store for women's and men's fashion, the staff seemed very friendly and helpful, and they were able to answer basic questions. They had a nice selection of designer clothing from many brands including Hugo Boss and Barbour. 4* - A nice selection of fashion if you're lucky enough to find something in your size, this is mainly an "Outlet" store now, so they might not have each item in every size and you do have to root around to find the item you are looking for on the shelving, which can involve touching most items, I understand why many retailers do this but I much prefer being able to see items without having to pick it up to take a closer look.

Inside the store is a good size with an area dedicated to the ladies on the left hand side and a mens section to the right. The store is bright, clean, well layed out and the displays are well presented. The ladies section has numerous designer brands including Miss Sixty, Hooch, Bench and Henleys and there is a good shoe section and some bags and fragrances too. The mens section stocks numerous designer brands too and they include Henleys, Bench and Henri Lloyd. The store is large enough for a sales section without cramping the area and is normally well worth a visit. There are fitting rooms and these are a good size, clean and modern. The checkouts are in both sections and are normally well staffed. Staff are very friendly, helpful and efficient, the atmosphere is good. The store is handy for accessing other stores within the development which include.Next, Argos, Tog, Asda, Currys, JD Sports, JJB and a host of others and also eating places eg KFC, McDonalds, Subway and Gregs. The range they sell looks scrappy and the clothes don't look like good quality for the ridiculous prices you pay for them. The staff usually look bored and fed up, and aren't forthcoming in helping you. On the plus side, the store is well laid out, and you can find what you are looking for quite easily. The men's section is much better, and the staff there are much more helpful and pleasant.

It is situated on the high street opposite Woolworths and there is a large downstairs with mens and womens clothing and then upstairs there is more womens clothing and shoes. They have a wide selection of womens clothing and also stock the Kate Moss range which does lovely clothes. The staff are always helpful and will get other items for you if you need them when you are in the fitting rooms. I love the clothes in Topshop- they are stylish, fit well and look great. They can be a nit pricey though so I don't shop that that often.

The store front of Topshop is modern, attractive and clean. The window display is eyecatching and up to date.great. The inside of the store is large, clean and spacious and there are lots of displays which are imaginative and inspiring. This branch of Topshop has the capacity to hold a good range of lines and also has room to accomodate a good sized sale without causing cramping. There are shoes, underwear, bags and accessories too. The products are reasonabley priced and high quality. There are changing rooms within the store and these are clean and spacious. The checkout is to the right of the store in the centre and is normally well staffed. Staff are very friendly and very helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. The atmosphere is good. This is one of my favourite Topshop stores and I would highly recommend it to others. The store is within easy access of the other stores within the Market Place.....including DB3, Zara, Jane Norman, Mark One and La Senza. The Bolton Topshop store is quite small in comparison to other Topshop stores. They still have a…read morefairly good range of clothes but I am finding less and less clothes I could actually buy that would suit my body shape here. I think Topshop is now much more for the person who can pull of the current fashion trends and fads as most of the clothing they sell isn't really all that practical to wear.
