I went to Mia Capelli during COVID when I deployed from Washington DC to Brattleboro VT in 2020…read more Mia Cappelli was the only salon opened for me. The cuts and colors I received were excellent. Really solid salon…read more I've only ever been to Heather and have followed her from other salons (this one is now hers), so can't speak for the other stylists there. Heather will follow your directions *exactly* and will give suggestions for improvements/tweaks, but won't force them on you. She's very thorough at brow waxing. Conversation is pleasant, the atmosphere is friendly, relaxed and non-catty. They never force product on you--great selection, though if that's your thing. *Great* at mixing color. My only criticism is I wish there were a little more creativity involved. Personally, I love it when I can give a stylist I trust free rein to come up with something new and edgy on their own. But I'll sacrifice that for knowing I'll get exactly what I ask for at this very dependable, pleasant, clean and reasonably-priced salon. Still, five stars overall for the best in Windham County. You'll look great when you leave. :)

I recently had my hair highlighted with Brianna C. Before getting my hair done by her, I had talked to her about what I was trying to achieve with my hair. She said that she could get my hair close to the photo. I told her over and over that I didn't want my hair to be toned dark because she had toned it dark in the past. I told her before the appointment and during the appointment. She ended up toning my hair dark, and left me with darker ends in comparison to the rest of the hair. After talking to her about how dissatisfied I was with my hair. She told me to come back and suggested a clarifying shampoo treatment to remove some of the toner. I ended up going back for the clarifying treatment and the toner did not lift the ends. That day she told me she didn't have time to re-highlight the ends so that I would need to come back again and make another appointment. I then contacted her to make the appointment and she told me that I would have to pay to get my hair highlighted again. I explained to her that I did not feel comfortable paying for the same service twice, since it was her error. I didn't hear back from her. Days later, she texted that she spoke to her "boss", I am assuming the salon owner and that she said it would not be complementary only toner. Moral of the story, don't go to this salon and expect to get what you want because they will not stand behind their work if they make a mistake. They will expect you to pay again for them to "hopefully" fix it. And don't be like me and pay them if you are unsatisfied before leaving the salon. People like this will do what's in their best interest, so learn to say no I am not paying you as I am not satisfied with your service. You shouldn't have to pay someone twice if they made a mistake, the right thing for them to do is to fix it or refund you!
