Bothered me that the fog machine went off in the middle of eating and I'd never experienced that before. It was funny, but having it blow right in my face unexpectedly as I ate was kinda ick. Oh well. I would return here anyway, to try their other food or if I can't find another better pub in the area. It certainly helps that they speak English! lol

Unfortunately we got into Xerox so late they were no longer serving food but no matter there was a football game on TV and the locals of course were going berserk for soccer game I don't really understand much for but it was totally awesome to be part of that energy. Of course being Switzerland and Zurich it was pretty expensive almost $40 American for three drinks. When you walk in you see yourself providing there is something available and then you have to order your food and drink from the bar they will deliver it back to your table. The fish was fresh and crispy served with a basket of fries, tartar sauce and cole slaw. We ordered and paid at the bar and were served at the table. The place has a British pub vibe and is a great spot if you're looking for cozy bar. It's also a little further from the busy old town scene if you want a break from the heavy foot traffic.

My feet were sore and i had a ton of time to kill while on a tour so i stopped by Mr. Pickwick. The concept is an order at the bar all at once- drinks and food and they'll bring it to you. You have to tell them where you're sitting, very specifically as they have no real way of knowing where you're sitting. Being not a native speaker i did think i was ordering a sandwich so i was a little let down to see i was getting what looked fingers. They were okay. Little bland but well breaded. The food runner was very fun and friendly but i had no real interaction with the other staff. I ate most of the fries and left most of the chicken. I couldn't really get behind them. They weren't awful, but just weren't great. Maybe another menu item would be better?

The food is so-so pub style fare: burgers, fries, fish & chips, garlic bread (about the only vegetarian option in the menu), onion rings and so on, with a featured daily special. Their strenght is what it seems to be the largest selection of beer in town, both bottled and draft though no surprises here: Carlsberg, good old Guinness, London Pride, Beck's... the usual suspects). Since I rather drink craft beers I ordered a couple of simple cocktails, but the bartenders didn't know how to make either of them. So I had my always reliable Jack straight and called it a night.
