It is located on the lower level of the park, doubled fenced with the track and football field as the back drop. There is one main gate (on the west side of the park) that houses a three tier water fountain, with a low fountain for small dogs, a higher one for large dogs, and the top fountain for people. On either side of the fountain are two strong gates leading to two separate fenced in play areas; one for small dogs and one for large dogs. While the play areas are separated, there is another gate on the fence, that divides the two areas, that can be opened to make one large run. There is plenty of seating within the two play areas, as well as a seating area with many benches right outside of the run I don't recommend leaving your dog unattended, but it would serve as a nice area to relax with your dog on leash if you want to just sit outside and enjoy the area. Today was my first time going and because of the weather, I was the only person there, however, it looks well cared for. The play areas were clean, and considering that the park in general is pretty clean, I think it is safe to assume that the run is kept in good condition all year long.

Little dogs sitting on the picnic benches, huge dogs tearing up the dirt chasing balls, a separate grassy area for loners who want to roll around in the weeds-- its got everything! Lots of spots for kayaking, including a place you can rent from when the weather is nice. Path through the woods along the water is great for walkers, runners and bikers. Could also do the other path that heads closer to town/houses. Not too uncommon to see wildlife either (ie: deer, geese, turtles). They also have ice skating in winter when the lakes freeze over. Parking is pretty easy and in a few spots. As other notes, no bathroom here which is the biggest issue. Otherwise with how accessible this is, it's a gem.

I like the dirt ground, the overturned tree barks, etc. My dog seemed to really find all of that interesting and kept trying to jump and climb over everything. There were two water bowls, one in the small dog area and another in the large dog area. There was a gallon of fresh water provided in the small dog area which was super helpful. Not sure if the park staff leave it there regularly or not. My only critique is the janky locks for the gates, but it still remained quite safe, I didn't feel like my dog would be getting out so nothing to take away from the rest of the experience. I enjoyed it, my dog enjoyed it and he made some new friends. I say it's worth a shot to check it out if you're nearby to the area. We were originally going to Ewen Park, but I actually found this one to be way better and easier to get to. My guess is that they've made some improvements since the last Yelper's review so I wanted to take some time to hopefully provide an update. :)

They offer field trips, summer camps, and birthday parties, as well as special members-only events such as tie-dye activities and live butterfly releases. Walking the grounds is free, and parking is also free. Admission to the live animal museum is approximately $7 per person, but be sure to check their website, as prices may change from time to time. It feels like a nice oasis in lower Westchester.
