It's sauna time of year and we love to check out new spots. This particular spot has every first Saturday of the month where textiles are required. We thought it meant it would be packed but for the most part it was a good amount of people. The amount of saunas and Dampfbads is really good and the temperature range didn't disappoint. The place is a literal maze to walk through, which brings mixed reviews. Everywhere you go is themed which is cute. Downfalls: more showers and hair dryers in the bathroom would be nice. More places to lay down, or someone checking that people aren't hogging the daybeds the entire time just by throwing their towels down. But all in all, not the best I've been too but would definitely go again. read more

The most important thing you need to known is that it's a complete non clothes, meaning nude complex. If you want to show your finest bikini or speedo better leave it at home u can't wear it here anywhere. That's also the reason why you can hardly find inside pictures taken by customers (nobody wants to be called a pervert, right)... There are signs asking u to leave your mobile outside, btw. The spa itself is pretty nice, a little confusing at the beginning you hardly know where to go first. best option is to have a look at the map or even better, bring your own guide... You have a small restaurant where you can order snacks, beverages or beer. A couple of sauna rooms Between 60° and 90° C a steam bath and a Hamam. The outdoor area is small but nice and to avoid views from the surrounding houses, the area is covered. There is an inside pool with a small waterfall, I mean realy small waterfall and one salt water pool outside. The pools are too small for swimming but fine for relaxing. Both also have massage jets. Overall you can say it's a pretty nice spot though they have limited rest and sit possibilities when it is really packed. So better come here during the week and avoid the weekends than you will have a marvelous time and you can spend the whole day here, easily.... read more

Must must go if you're in Stuttgart. Plan for at least half a day. Everyone is naked, it's no big thing, just enjoy the saunas (with frequent aufgus), pools, resting areas, showers of all types, steam rooms, all of different themes and temperatures. Take a big towel with you, or rent one there for 5€. Stuttgart has several other saunas but this one is good if you are new to sauna culture. It's a bit more expensive but you get a LOT of variety for your money. Very nice, fun and relaxing way to spend a day in a way you can't do anywhere else but Germany. read more

Sometimes when I need a massage & it's too late at night to schedule one- we go to the sauna. And it's really not that big of a deal to go without clothes. We walk around with our towels/robes wrapped around us- then drop it once we enter the sauna. You can show up with nothing except the clothes on your back & rent a towel or robe for 5€ each. Or you can bring your own flip flops, robe, and towels. I recommend bringing water & some shampoo that you bring in a small bag into the sauna with you. You can also buy drinks or food while you're inside. I'm so glad we took a little chance & tried out this fabulous German tradition. read more

This place is absolute paradise! It's like a wellness wonderland. So many fantastic baths, saunas, steam rooms, and relaxing areas to explore and indulge in. That is all included in the entrance fee. Plus they offer so many additional services including fitness, massage, tanning and much more. When you leave here you'll feel like a million bucks. Nobody should live in or visit Stuttgart without experiencing this place. *Note to tourists: The SchwabenQuellen is a fully nude bathing area. You cannot wear a bathing suit. You can bring or rent flip-flops, towels and robes to use when you walk around and visit some of the covered-up areas but otherwise everyone is naked. If you are not comfortable with that, or unwilling to give it a go, you will be missing out on one of the most fantastic sensory experiences imaginable. read more

ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT A DOUBT MY FAVORITE SPA EXPERIENCE SO FAR! Hard to beat SQ! I lived in Stuttgart for 5 yrs and this was my little slice of heaven. I'd come here with my BFF at least every two months for an entire day of relaxation and leisure! We always went on a Wednesday for Happy Tage (if you get in before 10 am it's a low flat fee for the entire day!!!! They close at 11 pm and many times we left around that time! Yes it's THAT AMAZING that you never want to leave! The restaurant offers good food for a reasonable price. The tilework in the saunas and steamrooms is exquisite. The decor throughout the facility is absolutely stunning with many quiet "themed" rooms (african, asian/zen, amazon, etc). There is such a wide selection of steam rooms and saunas (LOVE THE AUFGUSS - at determined hrs personell comes into the sauna and releases water and essences on the heating elements creating scented steam. He/she then waves a towel in the air, that creates a vortex of super heated, steamy, fragrant air that ingulfes your entire body like a wave!). Check the dry erase board at the entrance for times/aufguss aromas. Nothing will ever or has ever compared to this place! I love each and every single room, with the different temperatures, humidity levels and aromatherapy scents. I love going into the swesish sauna outside, being all super heated and then dunking into the icy cold water of the pool beside it! Oh heaven! This is THE place i miss the most in Stuttgart. I soooooooooooooo wish Americans were not such prudes and would create a similar place to enjoy stateside! If I could I would give this place 10 stars! No joke! read more

Schwaben Quelle is an amazing sensory experience. At first blush, it is kind of tacky; a little over-the-top turkish bath theme. However, once you really settle in, it is everything a body can want. There are endless pools of varying temperatures, as well as steam and dry saunas, some infused with fragrance, others not. Need a break? Grab a snack or drink. Then return for more soaking. Take note: except for one weekend per month, this is a nude spa. Not only are bathing suits not recommended, they are not allowed. But take heart, no one really cares what you look like naked and no one is judging you. In fact, the locals are quite comfortable in their skin and won't even notice you. So relax, undress, and enjoy the water! read more

The other reviews have described this place well. It can be a little confusing at first if you don't speak German, as virtually all the signage is in German once you,'re inside. Bring a towel, or rent it before you go into the dressing room! The themed rooms are a little cheesy but the variety of steam rooms and saunas feel fantastic, and as someone who can't take super-hot steam rooms I appreciate they have them in a variety of temperatures. Check out the webpage via Google translate or ask for a brochure in English if you want to familiarize yourself with the layout and different types of rooms and pools before you go because the place feels pretty maze-like, especially at night. My only complaint is that there's no pool with water temperature even close to what we consider "hot tub hot" in the States (i.e. above 100 degrees F). I like my whirpools to be around 102-3, and their large one was under 96, so it's more like warm bathwater than super-hot. But everything still felt fantastic! There are special deals, such as a morning rate if you enter before 12:00 for four hours, or if you enter after 21:00. Taking advantage of these is a lot better than paying the regular price. read more

The best spa/sauna you can find anywhere in the world. We come here from Southern California every year around Christmas to enjoy the sauna atmosphere. Been coming here since 1995 since they opened. I have booked private Spa for me and my husband to celebrate our anniversary. Our room was booked for three hours and just first one hour we were dealing with not working bath tub (what was the main thing for me as I am pregnant and couldn't use much sauna). After a hour waiting we were "upgraded" to another spa room, but till they switched on all bath tubes and saunas, it took another 30min. In another room we couldn't even enjoy bath tub with my husband together but in separate rooms so all romantic gone and we left better home. I waste a lot of money and staff better did that they don't understand and charged me towels and rope, when I told them that at least towels should be for free after all. I enjoyed my experience at this spa, especially after finishing my tall glass of beer. After the liquid courage kicked in, I dropped my towel and enjoyed all the sauna, steam rooms, and jetted pools. The facility is wonderfully set up with different sauna rooms and comfortable lounge rooms. The food was delicious. I ordered burger and fries (I know, so typical American) but it was one of the best burgers I've had here in Germany. Beer of course, is amazing here. Spa is next to Kelly Barracks. They have a summer special for an all-day ticket if you would prefer to spend the whole day at the pools and saunas. Although I haven't tried the food here, they do have a bar/dining area in the facility. Everyone walks around wrapped in a towel and they have several places to seclude yourself and sit down in-between sauna sessions. read more

beautiful, large, and well-maintained facility. women's only area with 2 dry and one steam sauna, large selection of mixed-gender saunas and an aufguss every 20 min. easy to get to by train...a stop is directly behind the building. in the summer, the prices dip slightly and it is not crowded at all. read more
