Went with my son on a field trip to D.C. today. Trip down was great. Just before leaving to come home, we found out the bathroom door was locked and no one could use it. Bus driver didn't have a key and didn't seem concerned that we had a bus full of 3rd graders who had to drive all the way home to WV with no bathroom. Apparently the EZ Passes were low on funds, so we had to avoid part of the toll road on the way home, making our 1:45 bus ride take 2:30 (traffic was also bad, but c'mon, driving through Tyson's Corner at rush hour??? NOT a good choice!). Low and behold 2 hours into the drive we have kids crying because they can't go to the bathroom. We ask them to pull the buses over so the kids can use the bathroom on one of the other buses, they refuse. The whole time the bus driver is complaining about how it's not the bus company's fault that someone locked the door. Well, I disagree. WHY is there NO KEY?????? It's a bus full of kids. Something like this is bound to happen. What if a kid got locked in there and couldn't figure out how to get back out??? Never mind the fact that we paid extra to go on a charter bus for the very reason that we KNEW kids would need to use the bathroom. This company has some soul-searching to do. If you're going to offer this type of service, you need to be ready for any and all situations. I won't pay to go on another trip through them. I think all of the parents on that bus and the other one in which the bathroom was "broken" should get a partial refund. read more
