I ended up going that following Sunday, and I loved it. My family and I have been both attending and volunteering there ever since. I recommend everyone attend at least to Sunday's in a row, you probably will like it!

We see rabbits and costumes on Easter, pumpkins and Halloween treats in October, giant turkeys for Thanksgiving, and Santa, Christmas trees, and every holiday theme imaginable during Christmas -- yet barely any mention of Jesus, His teachings, or why these days matter in the first place. I'm not the only one who feels this way. Many have shared the same concerns. On top of that, the pastor often appears on stage wearing high-end designer clothing, and it seems like he's away traveling every other week. His biggest influence appears to be Joel Osteen -- and a lot of us know the controversies and concerns surrounding Osteen's ministry. All I'm saying is this: be careful, stay alert, and keep your faith centered on Jesus, not on trends, personalities, or theatrics.

For only $13 you get fish and your choice of two sides including hush puppies, pasta with olive oil and garlic, hush puppies, mac and cheese, coleslaw or French fries. They also have chilled shrimp and clam chowder which I heard was delicious that you can buy. For a dollar more you can get a soda or water and beer is also available for purchase. The Women of St Mark's have desserts available for sale for a small fee. This is a really fun event and I look forward to it every year. This church has several other community events throughout the year and the St Mark's Carnival is one of their big events and it also is a really fun time. I've heard nothing but great things about this being a wonderful house of worship and I believe that just based on how welcoming and kind the church members that I've interacted with were. I suggest you check out their website and you just might find yourself a new church or some community events that might interest you!

St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic School…read more Avoid St. Mark if you value transparency. We spent over a year trying to engage with them. Last year, I visited in person and the Admissions Director wouldn't even receive me. Despite this, we applied. We jumped through every hoop: the evaluation exam and the formal acceptance interview. During the process, we were explicitly promised a tour once accepted. This was a deceptive ploy. Once accepted, the story changed. We were told we could only see the campus in May, well after other school deadlines pass, and only in empty classrooms. With 80 apps for 15 spots for 6th grade thanks to the Florida scholarships, they know they will fill the spots regardless. They clearly feel they no longer need to be courteous or treat families with decency. As a Catholic, I am embarrassed that a Catholic institution treats families this way. St. Mark is an elitist environment that treats vetted, interviewed families like a number. We turned down the acceptance. Do not waste your time.

My mom was a devout Catholic and insisted on going to church regardless of her physical state. For this priest to disrespect mom by not only being 25 minutes late to her funeral which we paid him for, he referred to mom as "he" Repeatedly and when he did attempt to use her name, it was not her name! Instead of apologizing for being late, he actually said he forgot he had a funeral, although we had emailed the night before. He had been to our home twice. He gave mom the last rights. Because he was so beyond disrespectful I will never set foot in a Catholic church again. There is something fundamentally wrong with the catholic church if this is acceptable

They were all very compassionate and sympathetic for the funeral, offered magnificent spiritual insights to everyone. Some angry and understandably grieving people have left horrible reviews attacking the pastors for not being atheistic and agnostic enough during funeral services, but I suspect those are coming from people again understandably going through a tough time because the sermon, messaging, and interactions were all very compassionate and in line with Catholic teaching, whether or not you align with the ever-increasing atheism of the Church under socialist Pope Francis

I've been to many churches throughout my life, but this church lives and breathes the Word of God no fluff, no watered-down messages, no performance. Just truth. Just Scripture. Just the power of the Holy Spirit moving. Myself and my family didn't just attend here we were transformed here. We got saved here. We were restored here. The teaching under these amazing pastors is bold, biblical, and led by the Spirit. They don't preach opinions they preach the Word. If you're hungry for real discipleship, real fellowship, and real encounter with God, this is the place. This is more than a building it's a family. Forever grateful for what God is doing in this house.

Whenever I visit them we go, usually on Saturday night 5 pm mass. I really enjoy the country and rustic feel that they offer. They have high vaulted ceilings that make it seem more open. However, the lighting is really bad, it's the harsh yellow lights and the sound system is horrible. Depending on where you sit, it is so hard to hear the priest. I really feel bad for saying anything negative about a church but it is simple steps that they could change to make all the difference. They also have a school and doing different activities such as, they have a carnival once a year. The music is usually the same people but very lovely. If it is close to your home, Davie or Cooper City, I would say definitely check it out.
