We were exploring White Oaks and excited to see some of the old buildings still preserved in town. The Schoolhouse is one advertised as such and has been converted into a museum. We were there on a Saturday at the beginning of July and arrived to find the museum closed already. It was about 3 pm. After walking up we noticed their hours sign said "Saturday 10-??, Sunday 12-?? We generally leave when there are no visitors". It literally said that (see my photo added to this review). I guess that's small town for you but I can't see how the town expects to survive on tourism when the buildings aren't open when they say they will be- online I found many areas that said the museum would be open until 4 pm. We were really sad because it looked like a very interesting building to visit. read more
