Vieles hat sich im Laufe der Zeit getan. Strukturelle Veränderungen blieben nicht aus. Aus dem einstigen FDJ-Studentenclub ist einer der ältesten und schönsten Studentenclubs Dresdens geworden. Räume wurden neu erschlossen und mussten wieder abgegeben werden - 2006 wurde im Hof ein Schallschutzschirm installiert, um nun die schönste überdachte Open Air Location Dresdens zu sein. Die Schäden der Hochwasser 2002 und 2013 konnten dank zahlreicher Helfer und Spender behoben und schnell konnte der normale Betrieb wieder aufgenommen werden. Immer waren und sind es die Mitglieder des Studentenclub Bärenzwingers, die Veranstaltungen planen und durchführen und so das einzigartige Flair des Hauses prägen.

I had the bierbraten and a couple of their house brews- all good! I sauntered in around 6pm and didn't have trouble getting a seat, although it started getting more crowded around 7-8pm. Luckily it looked like table sharing was a common occurrence.

And this is an IRISH Pub. The owner is Irish and super friendly. There are Jam Sessions on Sunday evenings. There is tons of outdoor seating - in front and a big patio in the back. Downstairs is a spot to watch a match or play darts or have a private party. Great whiskey selection. Grateful to have walked by and find this spot!

We only went for a drink and to check it out. But when I went to the bathroom I walked by the kitchen and poked my head in, what the chef was cooking up looked and smelled incredible! The chef came to our table to see if we liked everything, we asked him what was in the cucumber dill salad (it was amazing) and with his thick German accent he told us the ingredients and how to make it. It's been here for the past 20 years, they have their own beer, a pilsener and a dark one. The food is pretty diverse and usually yummy. You can get anything from pasta, salads, traditional east German dishes, some met dishes. They also offer brats and cake. Many vegetarian options. Bring cash as they don't accept cards. The outdoor area is pretty big and there's always kids running around as they have a small playground.
