Schomer Law group was very helpful and thoughtful throughout our Trust process. Mr. Schomer and all his staff (Cesar) were very patient with all our questions and requests. They were always very responsive to all calls and emails. We were very impressed on how thoroughly they considered not only trust options, but potential future tax implications. They made a complicated and overwhelming process, easy to navigate. I recommend them highly. After the trust process was done, I have peace of mind. Thank you Schomer law group. read more

Our experience with Schomer Law Group was excellent from start to finish. A neighbor recommended them, and we're so glad we went. Mr. Schomer's depth of knowledge in estate planning and tax law gave us real peace of mind about our kids' future. Cesar was outstanding-- patient, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. He walked us through every question we had, word by word, without ever rushing us. We had multiple appointments to make sure everything fit our needs. Thoughtful, thorough, and trustworthy. Highly recommend. Truly, word of mouth was right. read more

We planned a family Trust review to get suggestions, for updating our existing Schomer-prepared Trust, based on new laws, changes to past documentation, and more in-depth understandings regarding inheritance considerations. The result was an amazingly clear explanation of all items under consideration along with specific recommendations for follow up actions (Scott's and ours). ...could not be more pleased to give the Schomer Law Group a 5 STAR rating. Thank you, Scott. H.L. & L.B. read more

For years we had been thinking about formalizing our wishes about our future (estate planning, health care, assets, etc) but we're apprehensive about it because we didn't know where to begin or what questions to ask. Then we found Schomer Law Group and all the apprehensiveness went away the moment we met with Scott and Cesar... They guided us on the thinking about what we wanted (and didn't) and provided us with the information we needed so that we could make informed and sound decisions. They've also remained engaged and incredibly helpful even after all initial decisions we're completed. We could not recommend Schomer Law Group enough! You'll be happy to reach out to them. One last thing we will say about them is this: there are NO hidden fees on their services. You will know from the start what you are getting from them and for what fee! Period! read more

Scott Schomer and his staff are the gold standard of what legal advice and representation are supposed to be. As a lawyer myself, who has found it nearly impossible to find good legal counsel when I have needed it over the course of my life, I know just how good and how extraordinary and rare are the attorneys who practice to these exacting standards. The Schomer Law Group has my highest recommendation. read more

I relocated from Arizona and my trust attorney there highly recommended Scott Schomer. It is clear from our discussion that this was the right move for me, as only the very specific portions of my paperwork required in California will need to be changed. I have great confidence that after our work together everything will be correct for someone with residences in California and Arizona. read more

Just saw the FREE Seminar on "Living Trust, Healthcare Directives and Power of Attorney." It was presented by the attorney who actually does the plan, so it was full of real world examples and covered everything I needed to know from the legal mechanics to health issues and family logistics. As a long time real estate professional, I see that anyone who owns real estate MUST get a living trust, but this is a plan that will actually make sure you get the value you are looking for. read more

I haven't yet utilized their services but I did attend a seminar on living trusts, will and asset protection. I was very impressed with Liran's ease of presentation and his ability to answer questions at the end. I received valuable information even if I didn't take the next step with this firm. I'll come back after my free consultation. read more

8/11/2015: I'm working with Schomer Law group now to set up a trust. So far they seem smart & helpful. And great follow-through to keep me on track. Easy, free parking in big lot behind their building. I'll update this review as the process continues & I know more. UPDATE 9-24-2015 I'm very concerned about the lack of attention to details. Just while setting up this trust, we have received at least 4 errors. Two were postal letters reminding us of upcoming appt - but both had the wrong time or date. Also the letter showed her as a "Mrs" when we have clearly always stated she is a "Miss". Stuff that can really matter for a trust. Oops! Due the the type of paperwork we are doing, they KNOW my S.O. has never had a child & there are no kids in our lives, yet they sent her a Mother's day card. Weird & wrong. That is 4 errors in detail - so far. The atty we have met with seemed very new to this business, (and he may not have slept the night before our appt). All points of concern to us, especially since this firm charges about 2x what some of my friends have paid elsewhere for similar services. Everybody has been nice, but I'm also looking for accuracy too. Will update this review as the process continues. For now, I'm dropping my rating from 4 to 2 stars due to all these blatant errors. I'm actually considering dropping the process & forfeiting the 50% I've already paid upfront because it might be safer to go with a firm that pays closer attention to details. UPDATE 2016: We forfeited over over $2000 and walked away with nothing rather than completing this job due to a lack of confidence in their work and rampant errors in paperwork. Disappointing and an expensive waste of time. I'm sad to say I can not recommend. Did not work out for us. read more

When we had our baby, we started hearing that we should be making a will, setting up a trust, etc. - all things that I had virtually no experience with or knowledge about. I did some research online and found conflicting information, as those offering these services want you to come to them and are very effective at planting seeds of doubt in your mind about the other options (do-it-yourself/NOLO/Legalzoom vs. paid lawyer, etc). So I put out a request for local estate/trust law recommendations on Nextdoor.com, and got resounding endorsements for Schomer Law from neighbors and individuals in my community. The recommendations I most trusted were from other lawyers who seemed to be in-the-know of what's legally important when creating a trust, and who could tell me which local lawyers were only in it for the cash and which actually were trustworthy and knew what they were doing (Schomer fell into the latter category). One neighbor informed me that they offered free info sessions, so I attended one to see what this whole trust business was about. The info session I attended was an invaluable learning session for me, and while much of it was of course a pitch for their services, it helped me understand the process and approach it with open eyes. I realized quickly that the type of estate-planning service most discussed (generally for older adults) was not entirely right for us with a young baby and without much of an "estate" to speak of. I spoke with Megan and Scott after the presentation about our questions and needs, and they said they could surely work with us to find something that would fit our needs. And wow, they delivered upon that promise in droves. I couldn't be more pleased with the package they put together for us and services they provided us. They were dedicated to finding the right legal fit for our family to ensure our son will be well cared for if the worst were to happen to us, and I'm beyond appreciative for their patience with us through the process. I might add that in addition being extremely knowledgeable and versed in estate law, they are all lovely people to work with. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of legal services regarding estate planning and wills, regardless of what stage of life you are in! read more

Having estate planning questions, I was referred to Scott Schomer. Despite my questions being out of state, Scott was very thorough in answering my questions and helping me understand some options for helping my father. Very happy with the excellent team that we worked with. They definitely made life easier for us by making a rather difficult task as simple as possible. Only took two meetings and there was no fuss or surprises. We spoke to two other trust-only lawyers before going with Schomer Law Group. It's been several months now and I believe we made the right choice. We are one of those normally leery of going with someone we first met from a mailer but we did learn plenty from the free seminar at a Westchester Library, and from the knowledge gained, additional reading on-line, and speaking to friends, we then reached out to two other lawyers and asked the necessary questions. We decided Schomer Law Group was the best option for us and it turned out their setup was very efficient and the team work was very well managed. Their location was also the closest to us as compared to the other two lawyers. Thank you Scott, Cesar and Liran. read more

As an attorney, I am often asked by clients for referrals to to lawyers who handle areas of law that I do not practice. I am very careful when providing referrals and will not do so unless I am absolutely certain that I can refer my clients to someone that I know is top notch - someone I would trust with my own or my my family's legal needs. I have had the pleasure of referring many clients to Mr. Schomer throughout the years. He is an exceptional lawyer. Every client I have referred to him has raved about Mr. Schomer and his office. I have in fact trusted him to represent some of my family members with both estate planning and probate litigation matters. Again, his work was exceptional. I recently had the good fortune to watch him in court in front of a jury and he was great. Bright, gifted and also a good guy. I highly recommend him. read more

I came across Scott Schomer in search of an attorney to potentially help me with issues coming up from settling a trust. This is a really nice and honest guy!! I have spoken with a handful of attorneys and he was the first and ONLY one to bring to my attention that the trust administration is in a different county from where I live and should it go to court I would be incurring a considerable amount in travel time fees. That never even crossed my mind!?!?! I would be paying potentially tens of thousands in just travel fees! He not only was upfront and honest about this but even referred me to someone in the area where the court case would be held should it go there to help me out. I am very glad (and grateful!) that I got to speak with Scott but am also very sorry that geographically he would not be the best choice for me in this situation because I would have chosen to work with him in a second because of his honesty and integrity! Thank you for your kindness and consideration, it was greatly appreciated!! read more

My wife and I have had a trust for many years but we were concerned that it might not be up to date or complete, so we attended a presentation about trusts done by the Schomer Law Group. Attny. Megan Waugh did the presentation and it was very informative and after further discussion with Megan we agreed to have the firm check our trust. We met with Attny. Liran Aliav who pointed out several things that needed to be included in the trust that were not there. Attny. Aliav carefully went over all of the changes and additions that he recommended and we agreed to have it done. In a very timely way, the trust was updated as a much more comprehensive document. We returned to go over all of the changes and to sign where necessary under the guidance of Cesar Gil. Frequently during the process and at the end Scott Schomer sat with us and we enjoyed his personable style and conversation. During all meetings we were made to feel very comfortable, including coffee and snacks. We are very satisfied with their professionalism and service (and their open door invitation for any future concerns). We recommend the firm for all trust and end of life legal advice and service. read more

I found Scott Schomer's practice by pure happenstance (a map search). I was in a bit of a hurry for legal advice and assistance, but didn't have high expectations because I hadn't done my normal practice of reference checking. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the professionalism and follow through I experienced from my first inquiry 3 years ago to creation of a bevy of legal forms to, just this week, answers to my follow-up questions following the death of my father (nice I wasn't charged for the latter). Scott took the time to explain all the legal protections we'd need -- trust, will, power of attorney, and advanced healthcare directive -- and he executed them quickly, as promised. The office met all time commitments and the entire process was faster, easier, and less stressful than I could have hoped. I'm told by others who did more research than I did that the package price I paid was a bargain. read more
