I've been reflecting on my experiences at Nancy Ryles and wanted to share some serious concerns…read morethat I think are important to discuss, especially considering what I've heard from my brother and friends who also attended. First and foremost, let's talk about bullying. Both my brother and I experienced bullying from staff members, which is absolutely unacceptable. Adults should not make children feel unsafe. When I tried to bring this issue up with Arbow. Her response indicated a lack of awareness or acknowledgment of the problem. This is really concerning to me, especially for parents who are considering Arbow for their children. Another incident that stands out to me is when I broke my arm. It astonished me that neither her or the office staff contacted my parents after checking on me. They had no idea what had happened, and that's simply unacceptable. There's a reason school policies exist, and not following them can lead to much worse outcomes. It raises questions about how seriously the administration takes students' safety and well-being. Additionally, I've observed that some staff members are not as kind to students with disabilities. This creates an environment where these children may feel excluded and unsafe. It seems that complaints are often overlooked in favor of maintaining a certain image, which is frustrating. It makes me doubt whether anyone is being held accountable for their actions. The overall atmosphere at Nancy Ryles feels off to me. Upon entering, it seems students are not the primary focus. The cheerful tone presented by the staff sometimes comes off as insincere; especially with Arbow. Making it feel like students are viewed more as subjects to be managed rather than individuals with genuine emotions. I worry about the potential negative impact of such an environment on children's learning. While the administration might claim students are excelling academically, I recall a time in third grade when my struggles were downplayed. If parents are kept in the dark about their child's actual progress and rights, then it becomes too easy for the administration to manipulate the truth. Parents should be empowered to advocate for their kids' safety and well-being. Let's also mention the issue of diversity and racism. When I was at Nancy Ryles I n oticed a lack of diversity among students. Discussions regarding racism were often handled superficially, failing to address its historical context or present-day implications. This lack of understanding can severely limit students' awareness and empathy. It feels as if Monica Arbow cares more about the school's image over honesty and the well-being of its students. There needs to be a greater awareness of what's happening within the school environment, alongside a commitment to listening to students' experiences. Every child deserves a supportive, nurturing place to learn. My dad makes regular visits to Arbow, and both of us expect higher standards than what we've observed, especially compared to when a more compassionate leadership was in place. Every year the Principal takes AWAY from these kids. There used to be amazing things done for the…read morekids but now she shuts down so many ideas because she doesn't want to stay at the school later than 3:30 or 4pm. Well dude it's kind of YOUR job. Events are all run by PTO and volunteers except for choir concerts, science fair, art fair etc. and they do a decent job. I want to volunteer IN my kids class. But there aren't many opportunities for that as they reach higher grades. The principal is aloof and doesn't have a level of investment at the school. The staff (aside from her,) are wonderful. So caring and so supportive. She lacks follow up, initiative and just general CARE. She can't even pronounce the names of long term teachers. What garbage. That staff cares SO much for the students. And the Vice Principal SHOULD be running the show. She is everything a leader should be. I cannot even grasp how the Principal makes the salary she does with the true lack of care and investment in the school. My son has a year left and then we are moving on. Aside from her it's been wonderful but she has truly made the school LESS in every way.

My kids actually prefer it to the much more expensive Adventure Program at SW Baptism in Beaverton. The pricing is great and they have been very flexible with our changing schedules. They have different activities each day including: bring your bike/scooter and water play day.

There were two things that initially drew us to Kids Campus in Tigard:…read more1) We really like the fact that the max capacity of infants is 4. This meant my daughter had one instructor during the majority of the day and only 3 other infants max. We first enrolled in Feb/ March of 2014 when our daughter was just over 2 months old while I transitioned back to work part-time. 2) The day I met Miss Elizabeth, the primary infant instructor, I was sold. She is warm, calm and grounded. The Director at the time had worked there for I believe 16 or so years and now had his children attending which spoke volumes to us and still does. Our daughter has spent the last year growing with 3 other amazing children, only a month or so apart. Not to mention the few kiddos who are a little older that she watched grow up and has now joined as a "wobbler". The staff works extremely hard to be supportive of each other and it shows; they are truly a family. We do not think we could be more impressed by the dedication of Pattie and Darcy as they have been with Kids Campus for many years, (you can ask them how many... we know; yet you should inquire if you are interested). Kris was always welcoming and friendly on the earliest mornings and made it so easy that when we had to take our daughter in early there was no worries to be had. Mrs. Margarita has been the primary instructor for the "wobblers". She is so energetic, expressive and passionate about the children's growth, development and care. Kids Campus Tigard staff and children attending have been an extended part of our family for some time. We don't believe we could find a better experience anywhere else. The campus is kept clean during the day and cleaned in the evening- no harsh chemicals or smells. I have seen the teachers act appropriately when they handle children's outbursts or behavior; often talking to the children and asking them about their frustration(s) while separating them from other children to alleviate any disruptions. We are forever grateful for the trust and care of our daughter and the extended family we found. We hope you also find yourself so lucky to become a part of this extended family. Club K has set policies that discriminate against certain children based on religious beliefs and…read moreperceived physics disabilities (these are Club K policies, not state requirements). They do not sign any of their communication and thus it is difficult to get a straight answer as to why they would behave in this manner. They also chose to close down their services for a large amount of days and had the audacity to charge parents for this time. The schools never closed, but club K decided to close. There was a lot of hoops to jump through and they required very personal information before even considering giving a credit for this time period. This has been such a hardship on my family. I am working with the school to get another childcare service in place as I know other parents have also complained. I would not under an circumstances recommend this company.

I am a fan of Club K at Byrom. I have become a huge fan of…read moremost of the teachers. I don't know them all so I can't attest for their character. The facility takes good care of my kids and I know they work hard to accommodate my young son with is needs. I appreciate it very much. It's nice to not worry about either of the kids while I finish my day. In my business we have a saying "If all you have to complain about is our bill then we are doing our job". Well that's all I have to complain about. The rate is high, I question the amount of rent they pay to be on public land, and the rate is even higher when there are in school service days. I hope the teachers are getting their fair share. Keep up the good work folks.
