Cheap but great quality well prepared meals with attention to detail. We left very happy and full. Didn't get hungry until we got to our dinner stop in Zurich.

I've had a couple of other cakes and Torte, and they were fine but don't make me want to drop everything to have another slice. It's not a place to have savory dish, although they offer them. Decoration of plates and tables is so-la-la, but generally pleasant enough. The service is very cordial and nice, although they tend to forget about after you receive your food. This seems to be a German thing though. The place inside is mostly grey and somewhat a modern shabby chic. It's as I expected a café would look like, after their recent remodeling of the place, last year. The only minus is the chairs. The worst armrest-heavy chairs I've ever seen in a crammed café. They definitely were chosen to look pretty as opposed to be useful or even comfortable. 4 stars for the Rahmkuchen with Hefeteig. It's so good, I'm willing to somewhat forget about the chairs.

As I was exploring some cities along the Rhein I found myself craving a really good cup of coffee at a really good coffee shop. I'm talking a third wave, artisanal, single-origin, bordering on pretentious, independent coffee shop. Yelp led me to Cafe Bretelles and I was not disappointed! Don't be turned off by what looks like a tiny coffee shop- there's a second level with more seating if the outdoor seats and first level are full. Just place your order at the counter and take a table number. We got an oat milk cappuccino (1 shot of espresso and steamed milk), an oat milk flat white (2 shots espresso and steamed milk), a hot chocolate, and a shot of espresso. The espresso-based drinks were just what I was after. They were rich, bold, and creamy. The hot chocolate was more like warm than hot, but packed on the flavor. Overall, this is a spot I'd frequent for if I was in Strasbourg more often. For now, it'll be a fond memory of a perfect cup of coffee in a sea of underwhelming hotel coffee.

Finally found it and was underwhelming. It was a micro place with seating for 6 people, one seat available and I sat there while my wife ordered. We were told we could not be served, we asked if we could wait inside and rudely told we have to wait outside in the cold. Don't come here there are plenty of bakeries that serve cappuccinos. I am writing his review while siting inside Secret De Table with plenty of seating where it is warm and drinking a great cappuccino.

There were so many choices it was the epitome of a kid in a candy store. We shared a slice of Black Forest cake and a glass of champagne. We sat outside to take in the views of the quaint village of Baden-Baden. The Black Forest cake you can get in the United States can't even match getting the real deal. I mean, wow! The cake was decadent and creamy, infused with liqueur, cherries, and whipped cream. It was so good that when it was gone I was scouring the dessert plate for another morsel. I was using my fingers to get up every last crumb. Simply said, best of the best.

We sat outside on the deck overlooking the vineyards and beautiful German and French countrysides. The restaurant is located one kilometer from the French border. Our French server was Adeline and she was very nice and extremely helpful. She spoke German, French and English. We ordered off the menu and requested just two plates of steamed vegetables because we're vegetarians. We could tell no one had made that request before but Hirschler brought back exactly what we ordered. The food was delicious. It was cooked to perfection. We also had two glasses of sparkling wine which were fantastic and finished off our meal with cappuccinos. The view could not have been better and it was unbelievably quiet being a Friday afternoon. Adeline was an exceptional server. She was very sweet, patient with our limited ability to speak French and was a pleasure to talk to. Thank you Adeline for a wonderful lunch!
