Schnapps apartments building, consisting of just 8 apartments, is about 100-150 metres from the Village chairlift along a service side road, next to other quality apartments and chalets on the lower side of the village. Its also accessible from the main road and via a large walkway which would serve well as a ski-in ramp in a bumper season.
As with most it has no car parking and some stairs to contend with. All apartments appear to come with balconies and great views. Bookings are through main Hotham Reservations as apartments are privately owned. From the outside its a medium sized newish three storey building with an agreeable facade of metal, wood and cement. From the inside its equally pleasant.
Ours (no. 3) was a 2 bedroom (both with bathrooms) ground floor unit with a kitchen, dining and lounge area, and of course balcony and drying cupboard. It came equipped with everything that's required, decent pans, cutlery and crockery, and some basics like salt, pepper, mixed herbs etc. Beds were made and towels supplied. There is no BBQ and having a ground floor balcony is very handy for putting your wet ski gear straight onto it.
The unit was furnished well, comfortable and warm, and large enough to house travel bags/clothing and all the extras people drag on their holidays. Power points were few and an extension always comes in handy. It advertises for 6 to 8 people - 4 sleep in a bedroom with two bunks, two more in the other bedroom in a non-splittable queen bed and whilst some apartments have a sofa bed in the lounge unit 3 did not and thus could only sleep 6. 4 stars for a very nice apartment. read more
