We usually buy walnuts from them every year. This year we stopped by on our way home from the beach... the sign said they were open, but no one answered. So I then proceeded to order some via on line, I ordered them on march 8 th. It said it would be sent priority mail flat rate. I still haven't received them!!! I'm about ready to file a dispute with my credit card company. So I'm not happy right now!! read more

My rating is based on their misleading website still saying they have Ennis Hazelnuts when in fact they took out all of these trees some time ago. I drove from Portland several weeks ago only to learn this and asked Rachael why the website had not been updated. She's been busy. I appreciate that but updating a deceptive website should be a priority for any business. I've touted the now defunct Bernard's Barn and Schmidt over the years to friends local and out of state. Today one of them told me she had driven from Vancouver, WA after doing an online search that showed Schmidt having them. Drove all that way only to learn that Schmidt does not really have them. Folks...if you're looking for Ennis hazelnuts try Pacifichazelnut in Aurora....forget Schmidt. read more

Placed order for two bags of 10 lb. of English walnuts online more than a week ago and credit card charges confirmed but received absolutely no response from Schmidt's Farm either via e-mail, phone or their questionnaire via their website. Finally, I requested full refund for my two orders if unable to fulfill the order but still no response. BTW, when you call their business telephone number, VM greeting only & no room to leave message. What do I need to do to get through these people? What went well everything! The woman that helps you there is the owner and takes great pride in her work and in the quality of her product. We get her two types of hazelnuts, which she gladly runs through her machine and cracks them For You free of charge and she also has incredible incredible English Walnuts. You can't go wrong it's worth the trip. read more

After a hiccup previously I made it out to Schmidt farm. I sampled both the walnuts and hazelnuts. They were both delicious, but I came for the hazels. Anyway I bought 10lbs of 'cracked' nuts took them home and divided shell from meat. I ended up with a gallon zip-lock bag FULL I mean full. The person I dealt with was nice, and they have a pretty cool operation. 10lbs of fresh cracked nuts was 29.50, and I'd guess I got at least 4 lbs of meat. I am happy. read more

Having been your customer for apx. 20 years and having used the old nut roller, now we drove over 499 miles round trip. We bought 15 lbs. of rolled nuts and only ended up with 5 lbs. of nut meats. I asked the sales lady to turn off the fan that blows just the shells aside and was told that she did not know how. I think that the fan blow's more than just the shells aside. By your sales lady I'm was to get I/2 of the whole nut 15 lbs. that I paid $45.00 for, I only got 5 lbs of nut meats. So after 20 years, I'm going to get my filberts somewhere else. Delicious! We serendipitously stopped here on the way to the coast, right in the middle of nut season. Passed a couple other signs first, but this place had beautiful trees and a well placed sign that lured us to pull over. The woman working here and her two dogs were super friendly. Cool to see the nut crusher machines. Worth a stop, great nuts! read more
