Since this was my boyfriend's dog, I hadn't been to the clinic before but he'd been taking his boys there since he moved to the area. It quickly became clear why! Everyone was SO very compassionate, patient, and respectful. Special thanks to Iris and Dr. H for their incredible kindness and compassion. They gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye and made sure his sweet boy was comfortable and respected. They've clearly given thought to how to make this heartbreaking experience less stressful and clinical, which is a huge testament to the incredible people there and the fact they lead with their hearts and love of fur family. The room we went to was not an exam room; it had a couch,soothing lighting and music, and even special treats for your fur baby. There was a candle at the front desk letting others know that someone was saying goodbye and asking to keep voices low so the outside sounds of the clinic didn't trickle in. I was SO deeply moved by their respect and compassion, and I was so impressed with the whole team. If you're looking for a warm, supportive vet clinic, definitely check them out. My 6 year old almost died from having a dental procedure done there and ended up getting horrible aspiration pneumonia and when I picked him up, he didn't recognize me and had green stuff coming out of his nose. When I dropped him off in the morning, he was totally fine and when I picked him up, he was extremely sick. The doctor had the nerve to ask me if my dog was like this before he came in for surgery, and I couldn't believe that after everything that I do for my dogs ( which they were well aware of how I take care of my boys), that the doctor thought I would put my dog thru surgery if he was sick! Within 24 hours of his surgery, he was almost dead and septic and spent 2 weeks fighting for his life at WVRC. We ended up spending over $40,000 to save my dogs life because they screwed up somewhere when he was in their care. And to make things even better, my parents dog was misdiagnosed by them and was dead 2 days later because they didn't know what was wrong with her. I will NEVER step foot in this clinic again or will I ever refer them to anyone. I'm so glad I found a wonderful new vet clinic to take care of my boys who doesn't care about the money!

Honestly, I was surprised--being a walk-in clinic, I expected a quick in-and-out experience, maybe something impersonal. But it was the complete opposite. The team at Saint Paul's truly cares--not just about the pets, but about the people who love them. I've had one of my cats undergo surgery there, and more recently, my boy (a dog) had a seizure. I was in complete panic mode, barely holding it together. But even the other customers were kind and supportive, helping me get inside. Once I was in, the staff gave my dog--and me--the time, attention, and compassion we desperately needed. They treated us with nothing but love and care. Even though they don't take appointments and operate on a call-ahead, walk-in basis, they are 100% worth the wait. I highly recommend this vet clinic. The level of care and kindness they offer is truly rare.

Dr.Zak was very nice,gentle and got down to Chanz's level. We have finally realized and agree that it's Chanz time to go Doggie Heaven. He can't get up,he's lost control of his bowels/bladder. He's never, ever since he was a puppy had accidents before. I will be contacting St. Paul in the a.m. He needs this done right away. He hasn't gotten up on his own since Friday. We found a vet surgeon in Chicago to perform the surgery but needed to get Scout established with a vet for primary care. None of the vets we saw in Chicago could match the expertise and care she received from Dr. McDonald. Although the clinic is in Waukesha, WI, we gladly make the 1.5 hour drive from Chicago because Dr. McDonald is simply the best. Her depth of experience as a feline-only vet is unparalleled. Dr. McDonald has taken care of several generations of cats in our family, including those of my mother and late sister. She is the only vet we trust, and her dedication to their well-being gives us immense peace of mind. If you're looking for a vet who truly understands and cares for cats, I can't recommend Dr. McDonald and Cream City Kitty Clinic enough. Thank you, Dr. McDonald, for taking care of our rescue kitten Scout and for all the cats who've been fortunate enough to be under your care! UPDATE: Scout recently had some breathing issues and Dr. McDonald and her staff made time to see Scout that same day. So I do not normally post on this EVER. I am not one to do things like this and I'm also not here…read moreto talk badly or be hateful, but simply explain that I did not have a great experience here the last two days. I brought my cat in for concerns relating to vomiting and I mean I came home and he had thrown up in 6 different places around my house, and they didn't do an X-ray for him when I took him in because "he was fussy" or bc there was another cat there and he wasn't cooperative. I get it but to then also proceed to not give him fluids? After I told them how much he was puking? Didn't sit right with me. Well I get sent home with a couple of meds, keep an eye on him we will know more with blood results. Sure, again, fair. Well he gets worse. He's lethargic, clearly uncomfortable, not eating, not drinking any water. I know in my gut something isn't right. I take him in again the next day and it is so disorganized, very unprofessional. I just felt very confused and like I was being asked about things that I literally would have no way of knowing bc I don't know how to read an X-ray... don't know any of the medical stuff for animals bc I'm not a veterinarian..... They did an X-ray noticed something wasn't right and helped with getting my cat sent to someone for an ultrasound. So I will say thank you for that Well guess what? My poor buddy has an obstruction in his small intestine. I just didn't appreciate how they handled things. I felt invalidated and made to feel like my concerns were not valid or my level of anxiety was unwarranted. I have taken both my cats here before for a regular visit for exam and getting vaccines and I will say they are great for that. I just genuinely did not have a good experience with this clearly emergency situation and it felt like they were dragging their feet and left me with more questions instead of any reassurance or support during a very scary time. The fact that I took the time to do this is a lot for me and I wanted to share this experience for other cat parents out there to be aware. Again, this was MY experience and I was unhappy. This place may very well be great for others. I just really felt this needed to be put out there.

I brought my 2 year old pit bull to this clinic today with concerns about her ladyparts- she's…read morelethargic. they ask is she eating drinking pee poo? yes. did she throw up? no not at all. ok well it sounds like a FATAL CONDITION but shes wating drinking pee and poo usually they don't plus other symptoms she DOESNT have. here's a $1,000 estimate just to check if she has it. she needs a $6,000 surgery or to be put down. then. my 4 year old walks behind her and she makes a growling noise. she is the MOST vocal dog I've ever heard. talks but sounds like a growl- maybe. she whines, howls talks "revs" sounds like an engine. very deep voice. they said I'd never bring her home with my kid! that's dangerous pits are never safe when they growl. I KNOW MY DOG. SO we go to Mayfair vet hospital. NOT PYOMETRA. they didn't even get why they'd tell us that. a simple uti OH! And the vet tech said SHE TALKS SO MUCH! I said is that aggressive?? She laughed and said no she just thinks she can talk. the people at beechwood did nothing but worry me, make me feel like an idiot cuz I might be endangering my kids because perhaps I missed something. and then when we said we didn't have $600 to just check to see they acted like we were trash. UNTIL we said we bought a house 2 months ago. then the attitude changed. I felt judged. I feel taken advantage of because they ordered hundreds of dollars of tests for a condition she didn't even have more than one symptom of. I cried and cried cuz I thoyght my dog was dying. assholes. don't go here especially with a pitty. they don't do surgery on "anything" ( they called my dog a thing too) over 45 pounds.
