Okay, it may not be Neuschawnstein but it is still pretty impressive. In fact I would probably go as far as suggesting that it is Neuschawnstein's little sister. Mind you, it can be a little difficult to find, especially if you have never heard of it before (I only discovered it because I have this habit of simply exploring places on Google Maps). You get here on a cog train which takes you all the way up the mountain, though you can walk if you so desire (the walk is quite pleasant in and of itself). Anyway, it is basically a palace that was built in the late 19th Century and you can go for a wanderer through the rooms on the upper two levels, and visit an area on the lower level which gives an outline of the history of the place. There are also some gardens to wander through, but they aren't really all that large and you can basically see all of them by standing on one of the balconies. Still, it is pretty impressive and certainly worth visiting if you happen to be in Bonn. Oh, and apparently, according to local legend, this is where Siegfried slew the dragon. read more
