This charming medieval castle is the perfect wedding venue where the staff cooking, serving, and managing are friendly and actually care to make everything beautiful and oh-so-delicious. They served sophisticated desserts I can honestly deem the best we have ever had and my husband said the same of his pasta: better than ever or... anywhere. The spaces of the venue embrace your groups and encourage intermingling... Having given and been to weddings all over the world-- and some of them exceptionally extravagant with Boccelli the wedding singer, etc... we felt this wedding was so full of love and kindness and hosted in a way that made everyone feel truly welcomed. They even deftly handled two gluten -free guests' meals and a pregnant gal's alcohol-free wine graciously and discreetly. If I could give their F&B team TEN stars, I would.Accommodations are simple, immaculate and comfortable. Stairways are curved and a bit daunting but there were no accidents. Probably one of the most romantic places I've ever stayed. If you want a quiet getaway it's perfect. There are some great walks in the area and Romrod itself is a charming place. The hotel is warm and friendly and has been beautifully restored. The room we stayed in was a bit small, but they do have suites (at a price). It was no problem to take the dogs either. The bar was well stocked and offers a range of Tapas, it's actually very modern looking considering the age of the building. The restaurant was strangely empty, only one other couple there, but the food was delicious and made a nice change from the usual German fare. Make sure you book a table when you stay, because sometimes they have special events and it might be a problem otherwise. read more
