The upstairs has a little cafe with basic food and drink offerings. If you need a place, I highly recommend this location. They sell washing detergent and softener through the same vending machine one uses to pay. One can pay in coins, cash (and I think credit cards, if I recall). You have to note the name on your machine in order to pay, but the signage explains it pretty clearly. One of the reviews on Yelp also has (largely accurate) instructions. Great little joint.

But when it came time to wash a giant winter comforter, it wouldn't fit in our washing machine. Not only that, but in order to waterproof our winter shell jackets, we needed access to a dryer, something which most Germans don't have. So we made our way across the park to Waschhaus 38. I was surprised when I arrived. It's narrow and long, two stories tall. It has a "lounge" area with sofas and tables. And it's CLEAN. We opted for the big washer and dryer upstairs... these are all named after countries and cities, which is kind of strange but makes things interesting I suppose. All in all, we spent about an hour there. It was a Sunday but there were plenty of machines available and we were in and out in no time with clean and dry belongings. That said, if I did have to frequent a laundromat, the prices here aren't the absolute best, but the place is still pretty legit.

Such a wonderful shop. When I was looking for an everyday city bike, I found one I was interested,…read moresaw this shop sold them, and reached out on Instagram. They were super responsive, sending pictures and information and helping weigh pros and cons. They put the bike I was interested in on hold, and I came by to test it out. The process was seamless, and I bought the bike. They kept it a few days to check it over in the shop and make sure it was ready for me, and then I picked it up. The bike has been great, but unfortunately, after more than a year of daily use, the derailleur somehow got bent. They told me to swing by and I did. The person in the shop took a look, straightened it out, refilled my air, and I was on my way in 15 minutes. Great, straightforward service from people who know and love bikes.

It's super close to the Stadtmitte UBahn and super convenient when I have to work late nights at the office since I can pick up even when they're closed. They do a great job, and if there are some spots or stains I need a them to work on, I let them know beforehand when I drop off my dry cleaning and they'll try their best to take it out (which happens in most cases).
