This is now an update:…read more My last visit to Dr. Chad Luce was in October, 2015 because my hubby and I needed to go up to North Carolina to help family. Thankfully, the 'acute' stage of treatment had just ended at this time, and the 'exercise' stage for strengthening muscles and increasing mobility was to start. Today, keeping Dr. Luce's cautions and instructions in my mind, I continue to NOT lie on my stomach (sigh), and am walking around even better now than this past October!! I'm able to go shopping, to restaurants, and am living a regular life like everyone else...just doing it a little more slowly than most. (I even got talked into going bowling a week ago by family members although I kept my back fairly straight, did not twist my body, used a lighter 8 lb ball, and was happy with simply making "Gutter Ball History". Yes, my back was a little sore and stiff the next day...won't be doing this again any time soon as I don't wish to undo all the work that has gone into getting me to this point of healing. My focus is now on going Miniature Golfing!!) Still doing the exercises but...oops...usually only remember them on 'stiff' days now. While I still cannot stand in one place for more than five or ten minutes at a time without my back feeling the strain (and then having to lean on a counter or sit down), I am able to climb up and down stairs, do laundry (NO heavy lifting!), shower, cook meals, clean, sit for two or three hours at a time at my pc, and walk around for a couple of hours doing food or clothes shopping before having to sit and rest for just a few minutes. Last year at this time I was in tremendous pain...bedridden...crying daily...and needing a cane just to go from the bed to the bathroom 20 steps away. Today I'm getting stronger, and am almost 100% 'back'. I also only use the cane now to hook the outside door of our motor home when we want to keep it open. And I owe it all to Dr. Chad Luce. If you need a chiropractor but are afraid of going to one because you've never been to one, and are fearful about feeling even more pain during treatments, do yourself a favor and go to Dr. Chad Luce. He knows what he's doing, and he's gentle. And I'm saying this as a retired nurse who never believed in chiropractors before. I'm DEFINITELY a believer in Dr. Chad Luce!
