A brick tower is not known for its structure but has a fantastic view. It is located on top of the 160-foot Scargo Hill in Dennis (the highest point on the Cape), a clear day permits tourists views of Provincetown Monument to the west and mainland Massachusetts to the east. In clear weather condition tourists can see Scargo Lake, which was named after a Native American princess. Couples may find it romantic for sunsets and sitting in a car holding hands until dusk. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dennis,_Massachusetts

Towers gales and fires The Scargo Tower is about 30 feet tall and was constructed of local fields stones in 1901. It is actually the third tower to stand in this location. The first two were made out of wood and one burned down while the other got blown away in a storm. Even thought the tower is only 30 feet high it offers some cool views because it sits on one of the highest hills on Cape Cod. If the view is clear you can see out to Provincetown in one direction and the Sagamore Bridge in the other. The tower is an easy climb to the top but the cool spiral staircase can be slippery when wet and there are a couple of spots where it's easy to whomp your head. The nice part is that the tower is free and you can just walk up by yourself without any ranger looking over your shoulder. A cool little tower located on a cool little hill. A nice place to get a bit of history along with some very nice views.

Our GPS on the car as well as the iPhone Map had problem finding this place. For some reasons, they led us to the nearby cemetery. After circling around for 10 mins, we were able to find our way to the tower - and it was worth all the trouble. It was a small / short tower but yet gave us a great view around the area (as it was on top of the hill). I would recommend a visit if you are in Cape Cod.

Awesome find on the Cape. It's fairly small and has some grafitti inside on the stairwell, but the view on top is amazing. You can see the lake and the entire coast from there. There was absolutely nobody there, it seems to be off the beaten path. You gotta see it if you are in the area.

Small tower with a great view! Only spent 10 minutes there so probably not worth going out of your way but it was enjoyable.

The only similar activity on the Cape would be to climb the Ptown monument, which is more of a workout.

Early Dinner Delight at Milano's Italian Kitchen…read more My husband managed to snag us a reservation at Milano's Italian Kitchen in Harwich--early at 4:45pm--but it turned out to be a perfect time to enjoy a relaxed, cozy dinner. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, and our server Lynne was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. We started with cocktails: a classic Negroni for him and a Pineapple Express for me. Both were delicious and paired beautifully with the fresh bread and rich olive oil that arrived shortly after. A simple but satisfying start. For our appetizer, we shared the calamari fritti. The portion was generous and the calamari was perfectly crisp. The house-made marinara sauce was a standout--tangy, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care. Dinner was equally impressive. I went with my favorite, the eggplant Parmigiana, and he had the mussels and shrimp bianco special. Both dishes were beautifully prepared and full of flavor. We enjoyed them with glasses of Vecchia Cantina Chianti, which complemented the meal wonderfully. I could only finish about a third of mine, so I've got a delicious lunch waiting for me! Milano's Italian Kitchen is a gem on Cape Cod--authentic flavors, great service, and a cozy vibe. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable Italian meal, even if you're dining early!

We visited Leonessa in 2023 however. We always consider this meal one of the top 5 best meals we ever had, maybe even the best. It may have been perfect timing paired with the kitchen and staff being top notch or just the way the world was spinning that night but it was 10/10. The polenta fries with the truffle aiola was a great pairing with the amatriciana we got for starters. The pork chop is one of the two best pork chops I ever had. I typical order a pork chop when dining out so I have a good list of places to order one and this one sits at the top. My Wife ordered the roasted chicken. Chicken can sometimes be just, chicken. Well, when done correctly it can be a lot more. Best chicken dish my Wife has ordered although, we do tend to stay away from ordering basic chicken dishes. However, it was highly recommended and it did not disappoint. The service was 10/10 and all of their recommendations were spot on, including the wine.
