Their repair work was excellent. They were very professional, hard working and pleasant to deal with. I would highly recommend them.

Brian walked the house with me, was patient with all my questions and never once made me feel I was a pest even though I know I asked a lot of questions. He was always professional and always kind. Communicated with me regularly. Brian was a great first impression of the company and set the stage for everyone else I dealt with. He's very knowledgeable and always explained the next process. * They hadn't yet torn down their scaffolding that was around our entire house yet, so the window installers were happily using, then we had to evacuate due to fire and vendors were about ready to be blocked from entering our community. I called Brian to warn if he wants a guarantee his scaffolding didn't burn he should come get, he was more concerned about us and others. * Debra in accounting was kind and helpful and patient with a few questions I had for her * Stucco is a super super messy job, the workers were working is very hot temps (a week plus of heat wave), covered in stucco, worked very hard, yet always a good morning with a smile * Arturo was our foreman. He was just as wonderful as Brian, professional and kind. He too never made me feel like I was a pain with my questions and checked in with me regularly. Some days I'd get a text update from Brian and the same day I'd get the same update from Arturo. Great with communication. * They covered our driveway to protect it when they needed to start the messy process * I had some difficulty with 2 new pier mount lights that needed to be installed on top of our two 1/2 walls. Electrician said I need a cement guy, cement guys ghosted me, too small of a job I'm assuming. The entire stucco on house was done except those 2 half walls and Nevada Drywall Stucco & Stone had to come back out to finish, waiting for me to solve 1/2 walls patiently. Brian calls me, comes over, and comes up with a solution, they had it done in 2 days and looks better than I could have imagined. Instead of charging extra for having to wait on me for a month to come back (or come back at all), Brian suggested I pay the bid of the house, but withhold 2K, then pay balance after walls were done. They didn't even charge me for their solution for the lights. Impressive and rarely seen nowadays. * The stucco looks great, and they matched the original stucco color. * Just a last silly mention. Every day there were many stucco workers, one would sing loud and happy every day. It always brought a smile to my face. How nice it is to hear happy singing vs complaining, and I wouldn't blame them a bit if I heard complaining, (hot and messy profession) but not once did I. They of course are licensed with the Nevada Contractors Board and insured. They are great team players as well. We were getting a new roof and windows as well. There's a certain process that needs to be done and that meant sometimes the companies were working the same day. Never was there a complaint, a matter of fact, Brian and Arturo would keep me posted and made suggestions. Thank you Brian, Arturo, the very hard working stucco guys and Debra. It was a pleasure working with you all.

Upon entering small bath to be painted I gave them 2 cans of paint: one for walls and second for door frame and I showed them what needed painting: walls, door frame. Dennis agreed and In bid I stated 'no doors, ceiling or baseboards needs painting'. After 2.5 hours ( they did a great job on walls- were clean and left no mess) but the door frame was not painted. When I asked Dennis about it he said in the bid I put 'no baseboards'. We went back and forth and he agreed to return to paint door frame for another $150! I declined. My suggestion would be to get a contract clear and concise in writing from these guys! I learned afterwards, they are employees of Tahoe Paint, but the owner allowed employees to take side jobs on the holiday utilizing the company equipment. This explains too why they only accepted cash.

I'm looking to rehire them to get some more work done in the bathrooms and bedrooms. Before leaving, they asked me to inspect their work in case they missed a tiny detail and that they would be able to correct any tiny details the next time they come by. I am very happy with their work so I'll definitely be contacting them to come by for the remaining work

Sck Painting & Drywall - Before SCK

    Sck Painting & Drywall

I have been putting off writing this review because I hate giving negative reviws but I hope this…read morehelps someone else avoid the crappy work SCK Painting & Drywall does - saving you SO MUCH time and energy and hassle and inability to be comfortable in your home. I am sure some others have had an ok experience but please also consider they give a 3% discount for a positive Yelp review (it is advertised on their website. Red flag I should have noticed! Dangit.) We had a saga and it took months to resolve (and my house still isn't fixed completely): -Hired to replace drywall in my living room (ceiling and front wall, part of which was around a window) along with painting and texturing. They also removed texturing throughout the main part of my house and were supposed to do a light orange peel texture (because they couldn't do smooth) and paint. The fact that they couldn't do smooth really should have tipped me off...but there were many things being fixed and they were the only bidder who had a good plan for the ceiling - if only they could have excuted it! -Did the work, which was a somewhat challenging time because I couldn't communicate with the two people doing the work. I think they spoke Korean? and may have been the owner (Grace Kim)'s parents? Grace spoke English and another family member, Wonha did but they were only onsite briefly and periodically. Like when everything went wrong -The main problem (at first) was multiple joints still showing where the ceiling was replaced. I let Grace know and she agreed it was incorrect and sent the same two people back to fix it. Another couple of days of basically not being able to use my house and it looked better, for sure, but not great. Grace came back to do an inspection and said it looked "beautiful" and that "ceilings are hard, it is not going to get any better than that." She offered me a $300 discount. I told her I was not going to pay the second half of the amount owed because the job was not done. The joints were still obviously showing. -Other problems included: the drywall on the front wall was not replaced correctly, so there is significant bowing above a window that takes up much of that wall. -The ceiling texture was applied incorrectly so it looks like crap; another contractor said they didn't have enough air when they applied it? I don't know. Also, in their effort to "hide" the joints that were still obvious, they applied a whole lot more texture so some areas are even uglier with thicker texturing. They didn't cover the walls when they applied the texture so it dripped down onto the walls. -They used some kind of glossy paint so all of this is even more obvious. -They messed up painting in two areas, so there is a wall that needs to be repainted. After I refused to pay, I had to go through the process of filing a complaint with the Nevada State Contractors Board. They were great but this was annoying, time consuming, and dragged out an already long process of getting my house fixed and livable. Eventually, after an inspection with Grace present (where she suggested ways they could make it better - hmmmm, Grace, why didn't you already try those things? Like painting with a flat paint), a Notice to Correct was issued and SCK had 30 days to fix all the problems. Because it's so hard to hire contractors these days, I was informed an extension would likely be granted. Because they'd done it incorrectly and already tried to fix it once, so obviously could not do it correctly, I opted for the solution where SCK chooses and pays another contractor to do the work. I also got 3 estimates from other drywall contractors, each of whom pointed out more problems with SCK's work. (I had also gotten one that I submitted with my complaint to the NSCB). Eventually SCK ended up refunding the first half that I'd already paid them to settle this and be done with it. Although I would have preferred to have this actually done correctly, to the NSCB's approval, I was really, REALLY ready to be done with SCK and this process. The estimates I have gotten make me think it will take just as much money to fix what they did as it would have for them to just do the job correctly - I am just hoping it's not more. If you read this far, congratulations! Do yourself a big favor and choose someone else to do your painting and drywall! I will say they did a good job removing popcorn texture so maybe you could take a chance with that.

My experience with SCK Painting and their interior work exceeded my expectations on all fronts!…read moreGrace was super friendly, easy to work with, and seemed to truly care about the quality of work rendered. I procured four separate bids from painting companies that were all over the place. SCK Painting's bid was mid-range, and fairly priced for the quality of work. I plan to use Grace and her team for exterior painting work which I'll likely complete within then next few years. I would recommend SCK Painting to anyone interested in exceptional painting services throughout Reno at a competitive price.
