He has been preparing our taxes since. He is friendly and professional. I feel confident knowing that he is filing our taxes correctly and double checking to ensure we are getting the most tax benefits. It is not a free service. Sure, you can file your taxes yourself for free, but do you know all of the new tax laws and benefits? Wouldn't you like to be sure you you are getting the best return? Being someone's accountant means assuming a position of trust. As a professional accountant it's incumbent on you to always do the right thing and to treat your clients with respect and in the same manner you wish to be treated. If you don't want someone's business, or if you're too overwhelmed with personal matters to live up to the bear minimum of client expectations, then you owe it to your clients to have a frank and honest conversation that you're no longer able to meet their needs and then you put them in touch with someone who can. You don't pretend that you're handling their affairs only to eventually ghost them. Who does that? I was a client for many, many years. I honestly don't know what happened. I deserved better. You let me down and you failed to live up to the standards any client has when they place trust in someone to handle their tax and accounting needs..
