I have had a terrible experience with this clinic. My dog is my baby and I trusted Sayers to do what was best for him since they had seem him there before. Unfortunately, that is not what we received. I had brought my dog to them 2 months ago for vomiting and diarrhea. They ran blood work, and it all came back normal. Dr. Whippo recommended that we do an ultrasound to make sure we were checking everything. Wanting to do everything I could for him, I obliged. That came back "normal" in her words. When I received a copy of the report myself, I noticed that a mass on his spleen was notated. I called in asking why she had told me it was a normal ultrasound if there was some sort of mass found. She told me it didn't concern her at the time and that we could revisit in a couple of months. Well here we are two months later and my dog was very very ill again. I took him in and they ran bloodwork that was NOT normal at all. He was severely anemic and had low platelet count as well. Their next recommendation was to run a more extensive blood parasite panel that would take "a couple of days" to come in (per Dr. Whippo). This was Monday. The blood panel was expensive, but I agreed because I thought she was doing what's best for my dog. They ended up keeping him overnight on IV for fluids and called me on Tuesday to tell me they were still waiting on the parasite results. BUT that they wanted to re-run the SAME bloodwork that they took on Monday to see if my dog was improving and also keep him on fluids another night. This did not make sense to me at the time because it was clear to me he wasn't improving (not to mention, nothing had really been done for him at this point) and they wouldn't be able to tell a real difference from one day to the next. When I declined that blood panel but told them I wanted him to stay overnight for more fluids, they decided all of a sudden that my dog was "healthy" enough to just come home instead of stay another night. Trying to still work with them, I picked him up and awaited the results of the parasite test. Wednesday comes and nothing. Thursday comes and still nothing. I contact the clinic several times throughout these days communicating to them that he is not getting better, he is getting worse. They again just wanted me to redo the SAME blood panel that they ran on Monday. Friday rolls around and Dr. Whippo calls me to let me know that they sent out the WRONG blood for my dogs blood panel and she offered to retest my dog and give me free bloodwork. I declined and asked to be refunded for the blood test in which she agreed to. When I went to pick up my refund, the vet tech very rudely handed me the check and didn't say anything else. Nobody came out to speak to me to discuss what happened or to apologize. Nobody has reached out to me since then. Little did they know that luckily I was able to get my dog into a different vet Friday morning and he was diagnosed with pancreatitis and also had to have a blood transfusion and his spleen removed due to the mass that was found a couple of months ago. He is still literally fighting for his life, and I blame the week wasted at this clinic. I should be refunded for all of the money I have spent at Sayers, and they should be reported. Please do not go to this vet clinic. Not only do they run tests just to charge you more money, but they also don't care about your pet and that was obvious to me this time around. I am very disappointed with their services, but more disappointed that nobody tried to speak with me when I went to get my refund nor have they called to check on my dog, who was so so very sick in their care and would have been dead by now had he stayed in their care. There are other wonderful veterinary clinics in the area and I recommend researching all options before making your final decision. read more
