All produce from SavRaw- peaches, Japanese cucumber, heirloom lettuce, arugula, candy stripebeets green onion.
Sara S.

Disclaimer: this is a long post because I am passionate about SavRaw and what they're doing!! I started subscribing to SavRaw Farmbox in January 2014 and was so pleased with this local, family owned business and the quality of their food that I decided to volunteer with the company. Let me say that the produce is awesome, but it is so much more than that. Subscribing and volunteering with SavRaw has undoubtedly been one of the best things that could have happened to me. Not only have I majorly improved what I put into my body and my overall health, I also feel rooted to the food that I am eating because I know where it is coming from. Now that I've been eating SavRaw produce for over a year, I can literally TASTE the difference between their produce and what you can buy in the market. Even organic produce purchased from Whole Foods or Trader Joe's just can't compare!!! If you are concerned about eating only certified organic, it is important to note that many small farmers cannot afford the cost of becoming certified. This does not mean a lower quality product or that they are using conventional industrial agriculture practices!!! I have found that these farmers go above and beyond what it takes to become certified organic, eschewing pesticides and implementing sustainable practices in their farms. It is clear that they put so much care and attention into growing the best food possible, and the produce proves it. SavRaw's owner, Kali, has a personal relationship with each farmer she works with, taking the time to learn about their individual practices and struggles out on the farm. Personally, I'd much rather prefer to support these local, small farms as opposed to large, company-owned chain health food stores. By subscribing to SavRaw farm box, you will inherently begin eating seasonally, and enjoy a variety of truly local foods. I've started to really enjoy this way of eating. I now look forward to the foods that I eat during their natural growing season, let me tell you a tangerine is SO exciting when you haven't had one since the previous season! The variety is great because when left to our own shopping habits, most people tend to purchase and eat the same foods over and over. By eating a variety of foods, you will automatically be consuming a wider variety of nutrients, without even having to think about what to buy at the market. One of the benefits that I enjoy the most is how long the food lasts. I swear I have saved produce even up to 4 weeks (and longer) that still tastes incredibly fresh. Of course this is my own experience and it depends on the veggie, some produce naturally lasts longer than others, but I've been able to keep food fresh for much, much longer than any produce I have ever purchased before. Since SavRaw's produce is picked only days before it is delivered to you, the shelf life can be extended well beyond what you are used to buying in the grocery store. In the end, this saves so much money because you don't end up throwing away food that has gone bad before you can eat it. I should also mention that on the rare occasion that a customer is not satisfied with their order, Kali makes every effort to correct the issue. Just email her and she's more than happy to make it right! That's the difference with a small, local family owned company like SavRaw. Customers have the opportunity to communicate directly with the owner of the business. If you want something that isn't listed on the website, contact Kali and she is always quick to respond. Please be assured I was not asked to write this review and I am not a paid employee. With this post I wanted to share my experience to people interested in subscribing to a CSA farm box, to help others in their search for the CSA that is right for them. This is THE BEST of the CSA's I've encountered and there are so many more reasons than what I've already written. I could continue to sing praises for SavRaw, but I'll end here for now. There really is no risk to try this service, and trust me, you won't be disappointed!

These five star reviews must be friends and family. Just spent $33 for the saddest, smallest box of vegetables ever.

The cleanliness and organization provide a calming shopping experience. I would have loved to give 5 stars but my experience at the juice bar is almost always less than pleasant. There is a young woman with a piercing and very full lashes that is very rude. I understand that if she is making drinks to wait but when she approaches the register she doesn't even say hi. She just stares at you. She also ignored the customers behind us. When handing off drinks, she doesn't say a word so people aren't sure of whose drinks they are. It's the only part of the store where the workers aren't as approachable.

During a recent visit, I picked up a bag I intended to purchase and briefly used my phone to take a photo. A manager approached me and asked, "Are you buying that bag?" in a tone that felt unnecessarily confrontational. What escalated the situation further was that after I requested corporate contact information from another associate, the same manager approached me again and continued the interaction in front of other customers, without attempting to de-escalate. Since then, I have made multiple efforts to address this matter directly. I contacted corporate, left a message, and was provided an email address which I confirmed multiple times--however, the email was incorrect and my message was not delivered. To date, I have not received any follow-up. I understand store policies, but professionalism and respectful communication--especially at the management level--are equally important. I hope this matter is taken seriously and addressed appropriately.

Reposting what I reviewed at Agoura Farmers Market. "I've…read morebeen doing markets for over a decade and have NEVER met a ruder  management. We will NOT be coming back. The females running the market should look for another job. Their job is to make the venders happy. We pay a lot of money and it's hard work. They can address an issue immediately but instead they hide behind an email. It doesn't matter how many emails you send nothing ever changes. On a different note: they move the the venders around and now added steps with no handrails. Some will get hurt. Huge liability issue."

Never in my business career have I experienced such bad professionalism from a "management team." They will not answer phone calls. They make you email in which they most often times do not reply. I have been double and triple charged on my credit card for markets and they find a reason to make excuses on why these things happen with no refund. I have asked to speak to a supervisor who in turn also ignores your emails and makes excuses when she does reply. Worst of all, they lie and back each other up to make YOU the paying vendor at fault. All your trying to do is book to sell to your customers! Vendors are extremely unhappy working with this company and most of the customers who attend these markets are aware of the problem as well which is why a majority of their markets are failing. Additionally, I know off the top of my head at least 10 reputable vendors who refuse to go back and do business with them. What does that say? If you are considering booking with this company, think twice. Never again.

I now know definitively where to find it. They've also added the most incredible soft serve ice cream to their offerings. I also spotted that they now serve prosciutto which I was unaware of in the past and they have what appeared to be some delicious looking Caesar salads premade for about $15. I'm currently completely addicted to this amazing peanut nougat chocolate that they have. It's $5.50 a pop so as my original review states this place is Not exactly the $.99 cent only store but it's amazing selection of goods shows the purveyors attention to selection. They're keen on what they bring into the store and it shows. I've had a few bottles of wine from here. They were all yummy. I've yet to try any of their cheese, but it looks fantastic. As I go, I spend more and more time cruising what they have- they always have fine looking produce and I know occasionally they carry chanterelles. I do hope to scoop up some of those on a future visit (in season only of course). It does seem they really honor the seasonal pallet of things and from what I can tell most of their produce is local. They've also added a really lovely outdoor patio. All in all I'm very grateful this place in the canyon. They've saved me on a number of occasions when no dinner recipes came quickly to mind or when a soup hankering struck!
