We arrived shortly after they opened and were offered a table for two near the grill. The space is very charming and we appreciated the excellent service we received. We shared an order of grilled meat and grilled fish, which came with a fresh salad. For sides we had roasted potatoes and the cauliflower dish. Both grilled options were delicious and I couldn't stop eating the cauliflower. For dessert, I got the Lupin which is a crepe served with homemade chocolate, a scoop of vanilla ice cream and homemade whipped cream. The Mr. claimed he was too full for dessert, so didn't order any. When he saw mine, he was very sorry he didn't indulge, because I wasn't really willing to share more than one bite! Haha. La Flottille doesn't take reservations so time your arrival carefully, or else you will find yourself lined up outside.

There is a huge wood burning fire area where the steaks are grilled. So large he chef sticks his head in to tend the meat. This is the source of the smell that drew us to this restaurant. We all had various galettes. Normande - Very Good. The camembert dominated this galette. Sausage - Good. The sausage was tasty. Could have used less mustard. Chicken - Creamy and good flavour combination. Galette Complete - Ham, cheese , egg. Good also, egg done well. For desert: Pie tart with caramel salted toffee - yummy. Not too sweet. Pear with vanilla ice cream was good, a good balance. Perfetto roll: Yummy - the whipping cream was fluffy and fresh. Very light with good presentation. Everything we ate here was excellent.
