Not usually in this area, we dropped in to look for some holiday decor. The store is quite large. Plenty of household items, including complete dish sets, glassware, knick-knacks, etc. They had several pieces of furniture. Definitely needing a coat of paint or re-staining. Some toys, plenty of clothes and lots of shoes. All the announcements here were in Spanish. Staff spoke English and seemed very nice. Super size thrift store that sort of forgotten that they are selling used merchandise. Their prices sort of make me chuckle. It seems like they set prices on used name brand clothing like it was new. I really have seen a lot of their used merchandise that you can actually buy new on sale for a couple of dollars more. Don't get me wrong they do offer a lot of fast fashion clothing at a decent price. Their housewares and everything else was a bit over priced. Coming to stores like this can be a hit or miss. I am very happy with Savers! The employees are very helpful and accommodating. The merchandise is very affordable, too!

I vascilated between leaving a 3 or 4 star review, so it's a 3 1/2. This pricing is not an anomaly; I've seen it several times, and I realize the charitable nature of Savers, but, note to staff, you should take off original sticker so this duel pricing isn't so audacious. Regarding this location, staff/ customer service is hit or miss, there are 2 really nice/helpful staff; however, the surliness, and subtle near distain for customers is evident to quiet observers like me. i.e, about a month ago, a 60ish women, whose first language wasn't English (she had accent) asked for assistance with checking out as she approached lines, employee said "I'll help you" when customer got to the self checkouts she repeated again about needing help, and employee said gratuitously "I said I would in a low voice, I guess she knew better to sound too snooty". A little kindness, real customer service , common sense would consider: the woman not speaking and registering English as astutely as native speakers, like me; her age, and intimidation of register... that exchange was subtle and most ppl wouldn't have noticed but call me petty: I did, and it more or less encapsulates the "corporate culture" of E.P. Savers, which is nuts since 50 percent of their workload went away on the heals of Covid: no fitting rooms, and all 100 percent self checkout. However, be prepared to bag your own shit and make sure you bring your own bags if you don't want to buy them there because there's literally no one working and you're expected to do their job for them. Bags also have to be recyclable/reusable and you'll probably get kicked to the curb if you bring in plastic because of the douchebag mayor lmao. You're not helping anyone because the damage is already done to the environment. And I really don't see how making other people do your job helps that same cause, but hey. Energy-efficient for their asses maybe... Person I went with and I are disabled and we had to sit there locating tags and scanning for what felt like forever and bagging while her spine was bothering her. Really fucking inefficient to be quite honest, while workers were standing there by empty racks with empty hangers dwaddling on their phones and whining about hot flashes. Is this some new-age fuckery like Abercrombie and Fitch or whatever those stores are called in LA that make people scan and do the whole nine yards??? Older dude that works there is walking by and says to another female coworker 'it's been one hell of a week' or something and it's like... it's only Tuesday buddy. Things have stains and holes on them which is to be expected for a thrift store I guess but tbh I don't see how some things got past whoever they have check them, especially in the bedding aisle where a lot of things had yellow spots and discoloration. We come to places like these because mostly every kind of sheet is usually a poly-microfiber blend now that makes you sweat uncomfortably. I know they get what they get when they get it but very poor plus-size selection at least during my recent visit - they don't have anything above 1X it seems, and sizing is sorted weirdly and literally all over the place. This is one of my favorite Savers locations. We've reliably found a good assortment of kitchen items here especially old school cocktail glasses as well as specialty drink glasses like martini glasses and margarita glasses. They have some cool retro stuff too if you're into that and the selection of cookbooks is usually very good. Clothes can be more hit or miss but I got some great skirts and scarves here recently. Awesome deal on two winter scarves - only like $2 each- granted they are going into storage for a few months since it's August but amazing deal! I also found some nice ramekins and bakeware here at various times. First off, I used to love this store and visited weekly until 2020. Once they reopened I avoided it and eventually just never went back. Decided to stop in yesterday since I loved browsing in there. Walk in and the lobby area is a mess. Get inside, I'm trying to grab a carriage and an employee gets in my way like 3 times. Very rude. They were never friendly before but she was rude. Finally managed to get a cart that's not sticky or full of trash and browse. Good selection of knickknacks and cooking and baking stuff. Lots of books. Found the hair straightened I've been wanting for $5 so I'm happy. Continue browsing and now I'm looking for an electrical outlet cause I'm not buying this thing unless it works. Use the bathroom. Filthy as always but there's an outlet. Grabbed the hair thing from my cart and plug it in. It works. Coming out of the bathroom a different employee gives me a look. Listen if you guys had a few electrical outlets people wouldn't have to try stuff in the bathroom and returns are credit only. Checked out the clothes. Unpleasantly surprised. Very few brand name items. Found a pair of yoga pants I liked. 12.99 same brand on sale at Macys 2 for 25 and they're new. Everything overpriced. Went up front to see designer bags. There were 4. Browsed eye jewelry. Was there a good 5 minutes. No employee came over. All self checkout now, that's fine. But 4 employees standing around and not one could come over and ask if I wanted to see anything?! There was one thing I kind of wanted to see but wasn't worth the effort. Paid for my item and left. Today I had an employee swear at myself, and my child, because we mistakenly tried on clothing in the restroom. (As many other people were, and the employees were milling about the area, so we thought it wasn't enforced. Again, our mistake, admittedly.) I admitted that was our error, but that we would not be leaving the restroom until my child was dressed. She followed us around the store, swearing at us and even called me a "dirty bitch," in front of her manager, who did nothing, as well as in front of other employees and customers. I called to complain just now, and was patronized by the manager who is currently on duty who continually called me "honey." It's just super disappointing because I do love this location, lots of good stuff, but this girl was trashy, psychotic, intimidating, threatening, aggressive...and the other staff watched, and I got no sense from my call this evening that anyone cared. I mean... I love me some Savers and this one happens to be my favorite location. Parking is plentiful, the donation drop off is around back and makes it very easy to unload your donations, the staff back there is so friendly and the last time I went, the guy thanked us for our donation (a full car load from moving) and shared with us how our donation will help others. I love wandering the isles, full of everything you could need for your home. Great inventory, awesome vintage finds and reasonable prices (sometimes you pick up an item and wonder who the hell is pricing things cuz the pricing can be all over the place depending on the item.) I love vintage glassware and kitchenware and they always seem to have a great selection. It's never packed in there and I almost always leave with a fun find or two (that just ends up back there in a few months lol.) I wish I still lived close to this one as I would go a couple times a week just to take a look, but now that its a bit of a hike, It will make each visit and each find that much more special. read more

Thrift store heaven!!! Recently having moved to what seems to be a larger location, this Savers store displays racks and racks of anything and everything imaginable. Short sleeve shirts, long sleeve shirts, sweaters, blouses, blazers, athletic wear, jeans, pants, capris, shorts, undergarments, sleepwear, jackets, coats, shoes, dresses for all occasions, etc! And thats just the women's department! Women's, Men's, Kids, Furniture, Books/Cd's/Dvd's, Households, Shoes, Bags, Toys to name a few of the areas found in this store. Most clothing items are under $10. I've never gone into the store and not bought something! Great for creating halloween costumes, stocking up on pants and shorts for the new season, finding a shirt for an upcoming holiday, the list goes on. Made a Padme Amidala from Star Wars and Alice from Resident Evil costumes for Halloween from clothes soley bought at Savers! I was given a "Super Savers Pass" today entitling you to 30% off once 15 stamps are collected ($5 spent per stamp or a donation of clothing). Not a bad deal! I used to love this store so much. But ever since Covid they do not have dressing rooms and they only do exchanges which is a bummer. Also you only have 2 weeks to do an exchange which is not enough time if your busy or for inventory turn over. I still shop here occasionally but I don't spend nearly as much money as I used to due to the new policy. They should allow 30 days like every other business. They should also allow returns. Or at least bring back the dressing rooms since Covid is not as big a concern as it was two years ago. read more

Good deeds good deals maybe Savers is a huge company with over 315 stores in 3 different countries. In the north west part of this country they are called Value Village but they're the same thing. Savers was founded in 1954 and has a simple business plan. It takes items from non profit organizations and then pays them a bulk rate for the stuff and resells them for it's own profit. The non sellable stuff gets recycled. Everyone makes out pretty well. This particular Savers is one of the largest and nicest that I've been in. And since it's so huge the store is filled with all sorts of stuff. Like most Savers you can find heaps of second hand clothes, books, toys, furniture, old electronic crap, kitchen stuff, jewelry, and weird stuff that is difficult imagining anybody actually buying. The prices vary a whole lot from item to item but overall the prices are good and if you dig around you can find some real bargains. Some of the stuff is crap but other things are pretty decent. Savers seemed to be quite successful until 2015 when the attorney General of Minn filed suit against the company saying it was being deceptive to the public and very little money was actually going to the non profit companies that Savers gets it's stuff from. Not sure how this suit will end up but it certainly makes Savers seem less altruistic than it likes people to believe. Reguardless of how the suit will resolve, Savers remains a good place for people that like to dig around a find a bargain. And just maybe, if you get really lucky, find something they will treasure. read more

Ever since the pandemic, they closed the dressing rooms. So now you can't try things on, and you also for some reason, you cannot even return things. You can only exchange for store credit. Makes it impossible to try a variety of sizes or styles at home if you're not sure what's going to fit because regardless of whether anything works for you, you have to spend the money anyway! Defeats the point of budget shopping. I have basically dropped Savers from my routine at this point. Such a weird way to promote heath and safety -- i don't think dressing rooms and return policies were the issue with the pandemic. read more

i bought 3 t shirts. i wanted to try them on first but your fitting rooms are closed due to COVID. not sure why because only one person can be in a fitting room but 3 can be in a restroom but anyway i was not allowed to try them on in the store. so i tried them on at home. they did not fit so i had to go back to the store today what a hassle i get there only to be told you dont do returns only exchanges. you cant have it both ways you need to allow shoppers to try clothes on IN STORE or allow refunds. i will NOT shop at your stores anymore i just left the shirts at the store and walked out. read more

Well, my colleagues told me about a magical place called "Savers" where one can buy a classy Brooks Brothers navy blue jacket for... $4.99 or a nice madras short for $2.99!! I know you're like "Oh shut up! That ain't true buddy!", but it fortunately is my fellow Yelpers... I bought those two, 3 more jackets, 10 other nice dress shirts, 3 khakis shorts and a GAP sweater for under $100... That is twenty plus tasteful clothing for under hundred bucks! WELL, here is where the five star comes: Not only I was overjoyed at the register with the price I paid for all those awesome stuff, the cashier told me about a rewards card (they basically stamp a circle each time you spend more than $5!) and she told me I would be able to save 30% Off!! Like I needed more to be their loyal customer! Man, this place is awe-some! I really cannot praise it enough! When I moved to Providence from California, I thought I died and went to thrift store heaven. I know it isn't a common view of the afterlife, but I would probably be pretty happy to spend eternity perusing the racks at any of New England's fine Savers Department Stores. I take that back, actually. I wouldn't want to be stuck in the Worchester location; there's never anything good at that one. When I lived in California, "thrifting" was a losing battle. Often I'd spend hours on end rummaging through stained dresses, only to come up empty handed and smelling of dirty laundry. I know the concept is that you wade through rubbish until you find that one true gem, but I always found it disheartening in the Bay. In New England, it's another story. Going thrifting here, I always need a carriage to fill up with prime vintage goods to try on in the fitting rooms. In California, the attendants pester you the second they notice you've got more items than the limit. In New England, you can waltz into a dressing room with twenty 1970s secretary dresses and no one bats an eye. I took a friend from San Francisco to the EP Savers and she ended up spending $76.00. She walked away with 3 pairs of shoes, 4 dresses, 2 blouses and 2 pairs of pants. Try getting away with that at Target! read more

Browsing through the racks I came across a gap shirt with the tags still on it. $34.99 on the gap tag and $29.99 on the savers tag! Are you kidding me?! Want to look like one hot mama and not spend a fortune? Going thrifting at Saver is quite an experience. They have some really awesome finds if you are willing to do some digging and are ok with clothes that are previously worn by a stranger. Whether it's for Halloween or a wedding, I've found some pretty great duds, and most run under 10$!. I'm pretty sure a dress I recently bought for a wedding was close to 100$ new and I paid 10$. Not bad, I say. Another great thing about Savers is that you can get some great people watching in. Think 'people of Walmart.com'. That good. They also have jewelry, shoes, household items, and more for sale. I also take my old unwanted items and drop them off at the donation center. It's fast and easy. This Savers location is bigger and cleaner than the Branch Ave. one. In fact, it's one of the cleanest, largest, and most organized thrift stores I've ever been in! The store is giant, so you're bound to find something you "need" here, whether it be a piece of furniture, a board game, a formal dress, a jacket, a book, or any one of the many trinkets they sell in separate plastic bags. They also have a sizable Halloween section in the fall, so it's a good one stop shop for a cobbling your costume together. Savers seems to price its items more carefully than other thrift stores: some items can be upwards of $50 if they're designer/high demand/whatever. The dress selection is not as high end like the one on Branch, but I did find some neat items. The store really clean like the other locations. I think this Savers is very well-organized by size and color. I'm a new transplant to RI and a virgin to the world of Savers. Compared to Goodwill, I think Savers may be cleaner and more well-organized, but I always found the most amazing clothing at Goodwill, especially the huge, headquarters one in Boston :) On a routine trip to Stop & Shop, I stopped by this Savers. Most of the items seemed too old school like items you'd wear to an "ugly Christmas sweater" party. However, I did come away with a Betsey Johnson trench coat (missing a button and the belt) and a cashmere Barney's hoodie. Otherwise, I'm sticking to thrift shops in Boston. I found items fairly over-priced compared to Goodwill, too. At Savers, "name brand" items are priced higher when a shirt should just be priced a shirt. read more

If you are patient you can find some amazing clothes, but it requires a lot of digging and trying on of things. There 50% off holiday days are not to be missed. Do not be fooled by the vast size of this thrift store. Many racks are only 1/3 filled with worn out, "brand name" finds. I mean, I guess if you want something from Cold Water Creek 5 seasons ago, this is your place, but if you are looking to score some unique vintage pieces, steer clear. There were a couple of interesting dish sets in the housewares department, but the books warranted the 2 star rating. Although a bit over-priced at $2.99 ea, the deal is buy 4, get the 5th one free. The collection is organized by genre but make sure you look through everything because a lot of titles have been put into incorrect catergories. Also they allow exchanges! This the first thrift chain I've ever come across, at which all sales are not final. Check this Savers out if you need a good book, not a new look. read more
