I am a HUGE fan of Save a Sato because it was this organization that rescued my dog twelve years ago when she was less than a year old. She was dumped and starving on the streets, but a homeless man found and took pity on her and brought her to Save a Sato. They nursed her back to health then sent her to a partner shelter in Connecticut where I found her two days after her arrival and instantly fell in love. She could not be a better pet and I'll always be grateful to Save a Sato-- so grateful that in addition to making monetary donations when I can, I just arrived here in Puerto Rico yesterday with five of my students to do volunteer work with this organization for a week. I hope my sato Phoebe has many more happy years with us but when the time comes for us to get another dog, I will be turning to Save a Sato again. Please don't buy from a pet store or a breeder. There are many wonderful shelter dogs that need a good home and whether you get one from Save a Sato or another good rescue group, please consider adopting one. Call me crazy, but I swear these dogs know you rescued them and they show their gratitude every day for the rest of their lives. read more
