We came to visit Savannah Ballroom upon the recommendation of a world-renowned dance professional and Ballroom owner where we had studied in Jacksonville, FL. We were in the house-hunting process while transitioning to Savannah. Imagine my surprise as I recognized owners and professional instructors and competitors, Jaelyn and Alonzo, as the judges of my first Pro-Am competition. They were very warm and welcoming and have continued to be so. Dancing is my passion, and I have been able to nurture it at Savannah Ballroom. Soon after moving here, I continued my study of dancing, performing, and competing in Pro-Am. Nino and Lauren, the other professional couple are not only excellent instructors, but also compete professionally. I love to progress through my lessons and to socialize and dance with my fellow students at the Friday night practice parties. There is no other Ballroom in the Greater Savannah area that I would recommend whether someone wishes to learn to dance socially, to continue to perfect their dancing or train to compete. It should be noted that all of the instructors have passed the rigorous exams of the prestigious United States Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. read more

This year I was asked to dance in the Ballroom Extravaganza fundraiser with virtually no experience in dancing, so I went to Savannah Ballroom since the few lessons I had years ago were there with JaeLynn. She and Alonzo are excellent teachers and amazing people. I was impressed with how quickly I learned and how easily they built my confidence to perform in front of judges as well as an audience! JaeLynn worked with me every week until the event, and her patience and encouragement were limitless. If you are looking for ballroom dance lessons, call Savannah Ballroom with confidence and work with two true professionals! read more

I have taken lessons at 6 studios in 4 different cities and hands down Savannah Ballroom was my best all around experience. Elsewhere, I have worked with some spectacular dancers who were terrible teachers. The instructors at Savannah Ballroom are incredibly talented, not only at dancing, but at teaching as well. My instructor explained things to me that none of my previous instructors could. The instructors there are very welcoming and put a ton of effort into helping every student regardless of their skill level. If you want to learn to dance, I definitely recommend Savannah Ballroom. read more

Savannah ballroom is incredible! They have taught my (now) husband and I how to dance to all styles of music, pick out different styles of dance according to the beats of the music and helped us form a small dance family! They really do welcome you like family and are incredible teachers! They can teach ANYONE! Don't push it off and say you'll do it "later" make one of the best decisions we ever made and start dancing! I love these people from the bottom of my heart! read more

I am eternally grateful to Alonzo and JaeLynn; if they weren't so open and encouraging about dancing, I don't think my husband would arranged for us to take lessons for our first dance. Plus, they worked a minor miracle, choreographing a great dance to our selected song (The Pixies' "Where Is My Mind?") in just 2 weeks. Alonzo's and JaeLynn's talent is inspiring, and their enthusiasm is motivating. They are as fabulous as teachers as they are dancers! read more

Words will never be enough to explain the way Savannah Ballroom has enhanced my life. I have been taking lessons for a little less than 6 months and I feel like I can say "I am a ballroom dancer!" Yes, I am still learning but I walk differently, stand taller and feel incredible when I am dancing. Thank you to the entire team at Savannah Ballroom! read more

My fiancé and I aren't dancers by any means. So we were nervous about learning and attempting structured dances. The owners of Savannah Ballroom Dance made the experience one of our most memorable experiences in our wedding process. Thank you so much! We look forward to our next lesson! read more

I have been a student with the Savannah Ballroom Dance Studio since May 2011. Who would have known that a Groupon purchase would lead to a long-term relationship with Alonzo as my instructor and a life-time relationship with my Studio Family. You're never too old to learn to dance! read more
