This is another stand of El Becerrito (I see another reviewed on Yelp in Uptown). I think I've…read morenoticed them driving by before, but more recently this past Friday after the bitter cold two days, I was reminded that I should make a stop. I think the stand is here primarily Mon-Fri and they start in the mornings I believe, early enough for breakfast. Street was clear enough this morning that even if you were driving, it should be easy enough to park and pickup. Tacos are $2.50 each and come with onions and cilantro if you choose, and your choice of red or green salsa. A lime is thrown in on the side and you could eat there fresh or get it to go. They put it on a styrofoam plate for me to go with foil - next time I'll just have them foil it. Great option for a quick pickup on a street full of tacos (you can get cabeza at some of the other local taquerias).

The meat is savory, rich, and a perfect pairing with the sharp and spicy toppings. The service is quick and friendly. The taco is two dollars. You can see why employees of the surrounding businesses all come here for lunch. Put this place on your map.

After another summer of eating the delightful pizzas at this rolling oven cart, I have to update…read morethe level of superlative in my last review. This isn't JUST the best hot food at the farmers market, it's probably the best pizza in the city of Chicago -- better than Coalfire, better than Spacca Napoli, better than Piece, better than the deep-dish places too, just for good measure. I won't say that it is the only reason we drag ourselves out of bed on Saturday mornings to hike two miles to the farmers market, but it is the biggest reason. It's worth the line, worth the wait, worth arriving early. And they do have a knack for odd but excellent combinations -- this morning was corn and jalapano and ham and egg, which my wife liked even though she doesn't like breakfast pizzas; another classic has been peach and pepperoni, which I liked even though I don't like fruit anywhere near my savory foods. These people know what they are doing, and what they are doing is making painfully amazing pizza.

Beyond the more traditional varieties (black + white, an awesome wild mushroom), Jared makes an awesome pizza topped with Phoenix Bean spicy tofu, roasted green onions, cilantro, and black garlic sauce! Delicious! Add and egg to any pizza for a breakfast treat!
