Go for the drinks, not for the food. My friend and I were walking around looking for pre-dinner drinks and saw the bright posters for Happy Hour at Saulsalitos. After taking a few minutes to translate the posters and verifying with the server that it was indeed Happy Hour, we took our seats at an outside bench. I cannot stress how remarkable the service was, and I'm sorry that previous reviewers had bad service. If you're also a North American expat who has spent a significant amount of time in Germany, you learn to adjust your expectations for customer service. Sausalitos was an exception. When it was evident that my friend and I preferred to speak English, the server didn't shy away or run away flustered trying to ask a coworker to rescue her. Our server was kind, greeted us with smiles (a rare sight), explained the menu to us, explained the Happy Hour deal, and even gave us recommendations of popular drinks. The HH deal is fantastic, €8 for huge drinks; plenty to give you a good buzz. The food on the other hand is meh. My friend and I opted for the appetizer sampler with our choice of six items; three for her and three for me. I don't remember what we ordered, that's how unremarkable it was. It wasn't bad, just meh. Imagine processed foods and sauces, appetizers akin to ones at Chili's, BJ's, or TGI Friday's. My recommendation: come for drinks during Happy Hour, sip and chat with your friends, then head to one of the many other, better restaurants in the area. read more

I really like this restaurant (before it gets super crowded at night and becomes like a club). The food and mixed drinks are delicious; I took advantage of happy hour. I ordered a mango chicken tostada, and enjoyed it. Husband ordered a burrito and liked it. I didn't order anything spicy, though (I don't like spicy food and neither does my husband), so I'm not sure how the "heat" is on traditional spicy dishes. Hi All I would like to sharw my feelings how I was shocked to visit sausalitos bar in Theodor-Heuss-Straße 10, 70174 Stuttgart, Germany. Im staying stuttgart for 2 minth and every other day Inwas coming for drink at this bar with amazing bartenders serving you when you ae sitting in the bar area. However, I have decided to habe dinner withy husband as I have visited their brunches in other cities of germany and the food was quite now. I have ordered fajita and the chicken that the waitress brought me had a very bad smell. I have called the waitress and have asked that is this smell and asked her to take it. after ine minite another very very rude waitress came to me and said with raised voice, I dont care If you eat you have to pay! The chicken is very good you just dont want to eat it that's why want to return it and you have to pay even if you don't want to eat it! I told her this is not the way you talk to your customer as I have traveled around the world and the first thing the restaurant do is they offer to substitute the chicken or if you want any other dish from the menu. Another waitress came and said the same in a very bad manner for me where I have asked to call the manager, the third waitress came in she start talking to me with raised voice and i have asked toncallthe manager. She said the manager is not here and after talking with her for 20 minutes and explaining her everything that the customer should be treated in good way she removed the dish, however When they brought the check she charged double for the drinks!!!!
