A colleague found his way into Puerto Escondido at the same time we did, and he arrived at Sativa. How he found his way there, I have NO idea. However, this is why I say that, I approached the front of the store below, and saw the sign for Sativa on the right, yet how to get up there? The entrance is well hidden, even though on the side, and yet when you finally find the stairs, it seems to make sense, just not at first. Classy, great high up location that makes you feel as if you are on top of the world. They had a special on a variety of tacos, and this is more uppr class decor and was welcomed for a good evening with friends. You can look down on the beach, and while this was the evening, I bet this is a great place to take in the surfing competitions and the going-ons during the day. Very enjoyable and should be a stop on your visit to Puerto Escondido. read more

The food is good, however the service was terrible. I was charged for an extra drink which i never ordered, and when I kindly informed the waiter of the error, got into an argument. Which was resolved, but not without unpleasantness and involvement of the boss. read more

We just kept coming back night after night. The quality was out of this world and the prices are the best on the strip. You get ocean view dining with a well thought out menu, solid drink menu and a killer 2x1 happy hour. The servers are knowledgeable, accomdating and super cool. The owner was always there fine tuning everything and really creating an inviting feel. I talked to some locals who didn't even know they had food. I guess they also host some of the coolest parties on the strip with traveling DJs awesome music. I loved the country salad with bacon. We ordered it 3 nights in a row. I got the curry shrimp one night and finished every grain of rice on that plate. I loved the hamburger that they lettuce wrapped for me. My girlfriends was going crazy over the basket they served the fries in. I am blanking on what my girlfriend ordered but remember that she loved every bite. The food is good. I've had the octopus in soy sauce and the hamburger with blue cheese. Both were tasty. Once my girlfriend and I went for drinks, but they said the chef didn't show up and they did not have service. It seemed strange because there were people being served. Maybe the girl at the door just did not like us. The second time we got in and ate. Food was good and the drinks OK. They don't have much of a selection of good alcohol, and added lime juice instead of a twist. read more
