In the heat. Our server was genuinely good when he materialized, which wasn't as often as we'd have liked. Food: the cheese curds earned their reputation. The Mekts burger was fine -- solid, no complaints. The Reuben rolls, however, arrived looking exactly like what they were: a Sysco product plated with minimal ceremony. Hard pass next time. As for the name -- if you're picturing a dock, pilings, maybe a gull or two -- walk outside and squint hard past the road and the rooftops. Big lake's out there somewhere. Technically. Maybe a 3.2 night in a 4.3 restaurant. I'd go back on a slow Tuesday in October.

My wife usually orders a garden skillet and I usually have pancakes or French toast - the latter two of which come with meaty quality bacon or sausage. Their breakfast potatoes are very good as well. For lunch, we've only tried their wraps - my wife likes their veggie wrap and II always get their chicken Caesar wrap - both are excellent. The homemade skin-on fries that accompany them are the best around. I've read high reviews if their grilled shrimp dinner and that's next on my list to try - it comes with either asparagus or mashed potatoes and looks excellent. Their is a nice if not large bar area - guessing around 15-20 stools and high top tables in that area as well as a separate dining room. If you haven't tried it - I highly recommend you do - the current owner has done a really nice job.

Service was pleasant enough but s-l-o-w. Restaurant was not busy but there was one large party of about a dozen which seemed to overwhelm the two servers. For the entire time we were there we didn't see any front of house staff (manager, host, bussers) other than two servers. Cleanliness was poor. We were there for over an hour and tables near us were not cleared or cleaned at all. Dirty dishes with leftover food sitting on them for the duration of our meal. Food all over the floor. Not an appetizing atmosphere. All-in-all poor value for the money.
