History
Established in 2007.
SassyTuna is a British Nickname for someone who likes to party. Julie's maiden
name is Whalen, so the 'Whale' evolved into a tuna over ten years ago, when this
business started in Ontario. Julie is happy to be taking all the practice over the
years and letting children do what she wished she could have when she was eight
years old. This trained animator and designer spends most of her time drawing,
teaching, and studying. Having studied at top art and design colleges such as
Grenfell, Sheridan, and Algonquin, Julie brings enthusiasm and energy to all of
her endeavors. While presently running the creative department at local software
company Beaufort Solutions, Julie also leads art parties through her own
SassyTuna Studio, where she teaches and demonstrates drawing how-tos in festive
