My dumb ass paid Phil & I never received my product. Every day Phil would text me with a reason why it could not be delivered - broken vehicle, sick child, etc. When I felt as if I was getting ripped off - I did some research. Philip has ripped off tons of people. Do not hire OCD carpentry or any company that is associated with Phillip Kovalcik.

He also custom made thresholds where there were major separations in the carpet seams caused by the tenants dogs. When I met James the first day at the property to begin working, I observed that his demeanor and work style is detail oriented, patient, and thorough and accurate. I appreciate that he takes his time to do quality work and would gladly use him again in the future. I would also highly recommend James because he's a hard working, honest, and good person. He was always genuinely kind, cooperative, and flexible with coordinating plans to go back to the property to complete the work considering the situation wasn't convenient for him and I didn't live nearby to be more helpful. I didn't see the results until after everything was done but it turned out exactly how I hoped.

We couldn't be happier with our new porch--what a transformation! Iron Castle Construction's skill…read moreand professionalism are as impressive as the outcome itself. Owner Ken Schubert worked creatively with us and our design, streamlining materials and construction methods to capture the look we wanted at a price we felt good about. He took extra care in construction, picture-framing the decking, a detail I wish I'd thought to ask for and was overjoyed that he included. From inspiration photo to finished product, Iron Castle turned our lackluster, sagging brick porch into a wide, welcoming, beautiful entry. We're excited to tackle future projects together and recommend Iron Castle to everyone we know.

I honestly feel a bit bad leaving a 3-star review here because everyone I interacted with at Iron…read moreCastle Construction was genuinely kind, respectful, and responsible. On top of that, the quality of their work is fantastic. Among other great things about their work, they did a beautiful job matching the existing wood molding in our home with the new construction they did on our bathroom. Price-wise, they were right in the middle of the road compared to the other estimates I received. Where things fell short for me was communication. I know contractor-client dynamics can be tricky, but as the project progressed, it became increasingly unclear what the actual timeline or next steps were. The project ran longer than the original estimate, and I was never given updated, reliable estimates for completion. (Part of this was due to scheduling inspectors which had nothing to do with Iron Castle, but even factoring in the inspection wait time, the project went beyond the initial estimate.) Toward the end, communication broke down and workers would show up on days without prior notice, even after I explicitly asked to be kept in the loop on scheduling. That was stressful because we had our work to take care of. Big picture: Iron Castle does high-quality, beautiful work, and they are good people. But while I love the finished product, the process of getting there was not what I would have expected.
