They have all the usual florist type stock, cut flowers and bouquets but other stock a lot of wreaths and items for funerals. I guess this is because they are situated next to Yardley Cemetery and Crematorium. I bought some basic cut flowers which lasted around a week. The stock is pretty basic but of good quality.

It's great that you can give flowers on all occasions and Urban Designs caters to this; from birthdays, thank you and sorry messages to all the holidays. There is even information to tell you how to look after the flower and I'm sure the staff will be more than willing to help. I know a decent bunch of flowers can be expensive but I think the prices are reasonable here. If I got flowers on regular occasions I'd take advantage of their loyalty card; every time £7.50 is spent you get a stamp, once 25 stamps have been collected then you get a free £10 gift voucher. Urban Design Flowers is a lovely florist - with a great variety of flowers, well-displayed, and reasonable prices. It's not as cheap as picking up a bunch in Tescos, but then this has 'design' in the title, which, well, basically means someone has thought about it. And the thought pays off: they really know their stuff here. The girl that was serving me (sadly I can't remember her name, but she had blonde hair!) was really lovely, very helpful and clearly proud of her work and her wares. They also have a great selection of vases and other decorative items - again, looking a bit more interesting than your factory-produced ornamental bits and bobs. Sometimes I like going in here not to buy anything but just hang around and enjoy the sights, smells and general colourfulness of this shop. It's a beautiful, bright breath of fresh air.

It is the range of flowers I was so impressed with: fresh sunflowers and peonies along with things I didn't even recognise or know the name of. However, the flowers and stock doesn't seem cheap - £2.50 for one sunflower isn't exactly competitive when compared to city centre flower stalls. The staff were very friendly and helpful so perhaps for a special occasion it would be worth the extra money.

They have a lovely selection of beautiful flowers, vases, and small gifts. As you walk in you'll notice a large glass fridge with big fresh flowers kept inside. The service in here is well above and beyond. Jo is the manager and is very friendly, happy to answer any question that you may have. They cater for weddings, exhibitions, dinner dances, events..... and so on. They are also part of the NEC, so have no problem fitting out for large exhibitions. This didn't bother me too much as they had a beautiful selection and as a girl it's like I'm programmed to have a soft spot for flowers. They had the majority of flowers that are currently in season and just from the way the staff were talking about them I could see that have a genuine passion and good knowledge for horticulture. This was great as I am clueless about flowers! You may know that some floristries charge an extortionate amount for beautiful flowers? Here they don't, result! Obviously the bigger the bunch the more you pay so it would have been nice to see some money saving deals. The staff also gift wrap the flowers and you can get cards for almost any occasion to stick in the bunch flowers; to make them that little bit more special.

It seems that lots of the customers have been in before and are returning as the service and product they have received in the past is so good. The fresh cut flowers that they stock are of the highest quality and the flowers I bought lasted over 10 days. The lady was very helpful and flowers got delivered well in time. When I arrived at the house of the bereaved and saw the flowers are was very impressed. They were lovely and I felt I got good value for money. From my experience I would definitely reccomend.
