It's suitable for young locals looking for some place fancy to hang out - 50's rock and roll, drive in diner theme furniture is hip to them. Mile's diner does a good job in this regard. The same cannot be said about the food itself. None of the owners, cooks and staff is American. That explains why their Cole slaw, barbeque sauce, hot sauce etc taste weird. They don't know what the real thing tastes like, they wouldn't know how to reproduce it. The menu offers 30 variations on the same burger, but few real American classics. Thus if you're an American hankerin' for a taste of home, or a local with good taste in food, doubtful you'd like to spend 10+ € for a burger made from frozen meat, to support the away owners' lifestyle.

Then, some dude walked in, cigarette in hand sitting down at a corner table and was handed an ashtray...maybe he was the owner, not sure. Yay! The last time I came here was a couple of years ago, when it was Restaurant Bubu, and I had a bad experience with some food poisoning... and it was kind of dead on the weekend. But this time, it was PACKED at 8 pm on a Saturday night. Thank goodness we had made reservations, but even so, we still had to wait a bit at the bar first. The bartender was a bit short with me when he asked what we wanted to drink, and I said I needed a menu. I guess he was really busy and kind of stressed out, but I was a bit shocked when he snapped at me to wait a moment. I hadn't meant to be rude, but I guess it didn't come across okay. Oh well. I started with a lovely Amboss Amber beer that came in a bottle for CHF 7.50, but the bartender expertly poured it into a lovely glass for me. Then we got seated at a low table which actually was more uncomfortable than sitting at the bar. Oh well. I had the Swiss Prime Quarter Pounder (170gr) hamburger cooked medium with cocktail sauce (CHF 17.50) and onion rings with tarter sauce (CHF 9.50). The food was really delicious. The onion rings were fried expertly and had a really nice crunchy coating. The burger was nice and juicy--my first real "American"-tasting burger since I've been in Switzerland. The bun was really tender and yummy, too. Very Q and chewy. I washed it down with a yummy vanilla milkshake, my first "real" one in Switzerland! (CHF 12.50) It had a nice vanilla taste and generous amounts of whipped cream. The whipped cream was unsweetened, like most whipped creams I find in Switzerland, but it was still delicious with the shake. Highly recommend this place if you are craving American-style food.

Unless you don't mind eating outside in the dark with all the smokers. Second....expect to wait a long time. This isn't a fast food restaurant so grab a beer and wait 45/60 min to get your food. Third... Switzerland is very expensive so this restaurant is no different. 2 burgers, 2 alcoholic drinks, and French fries were 98CHF which is pretty much 100 bucks. They have 3 sauces for you to try. Ketchup- Tasted like marinara sauce. BBQ- Tasted like smokey ketchup. 1000 island. Tasted normal. Burgers were great. They were juicy and delicious. Animal Style French Fries were a good try. Def not like the original but so far from home it was a nice find. This restaurant isn't for Americans. Way too expensive for what we eat all the time but I compare this place to the Melting Pot in the US. That place is so overpriced but it's amazing to get your cheese fondue fix. I can't imagine Swiss people coming to the US and eating at our expensive version of cheese fondue. Service was ok. It was super busy so can't really complain but I could tell our waiter was super annoyed with our audacity of showing up , with no reservation, and willingness to wait. And for some dumb reason you can't order "The Threesome" (or Hattrick) with a group of 5 people. 4 apparently is ok but we had 5. Cannot imagine why if 3 people order the same thing it's an inconvenience for the restaurant but DON'T DO IT or again your waiter will show his annoyance.
