We used the "analog" lanes on this outing. I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the young lady who helped us get set up and provided training, but she was very friendly and funny. The check-in process was quick and simple with no issues--even with using a Groupon. The facility and all the equipment functioned as designed, and we noticed no safety or cleanliness issues. We had such an enjoyable experience that we will return to American Axes! I only wish we lived closer so we could take advantage of their monthly membership!

I'm actually pretty good at it! Make a reservation on line, come on in at your time, they will give you a tutorial, and then some practice time. It is all in the wrist... and then start your games. It is like a big game of darts. I have yet to get beat where I have not let someone win. (Date, my sons, and so on) The prices are not cheap but it is a lot of fun! They have wine, beer, soda, chips and light food... so don't come hungry... eat before you get here. It is Well worth the experience and if you're like me... you'll come back for more.

I want to mention that while we had made a reservation for six, we were unable to bring 2 of our people with us. I did not ask for a refund on the other two people. I suppose I could have. However, as this was a birthday event, and I wanted things to go smoothly and easily, I didn't bother. Also, the reservation that I made was for a single lane with the 2 axe throwing targets. When we arrived, there wasn't anyone else there. I'm not sure if it was just because there was no one there, or if they were just being nice in general, but they allowed us to use 2 lanes with 4 axe throwing targets and that made it even more fun! They brought out popcorn for everyone and had a fridge-bar with some canned drinks and snacks. I really didn't take any pictures, but I definitely intend to come back. So, next time; I promise. We showed up expecting the same experience, only to find they've rebranded as East End Social Bar without updating their online information. Instead of a full axe-throwing venue, there's now only one axe lane left. The rest of the space is mostly golf simulators and a cigar bar. Even though the cigar area is technically sectioned off, the smoke smell seeps through the entire bar and makes the atmosphere unpleasant. It was really disappointing to plan a night of axe throwing and find out on arrival that it's basically a golf/cigar lounge with a single token axe lane. If you're looking for a true axe-throwing experience, this is no longer the place.

Popped in to Bad Axe at the last minute for a group outing and it was a pretty decent spot. My…read moregroup went around 7:30pm and it wasn't too crowded, so we were able to get assigned to a booth as soon as we walked in. Our instructor was pretty well informed and really good at throwing axes! So he was able to teach our group a lot of decent games to play while we were there. Only reason why I am keeping a star off my review is because I didn't really care for axe throwing at all (was my first time), the environment was more "quiet" then I expected it to be (thought it would be a more lively experience with music) and the price was a lot more expensive then I thought it would be. Overall, if you enjoy axe Throwing and want a Lowkey spot to do it at, this is your place. It wasn't really my speed, but I think if axe throwing is your ideal of a good time, this is a good spot.

We had the indoor lane as you come into the location, right upfront. You get a lane Coach, ours was Colt. He's AWESOME and FUNNY! Great guy! You get to practice beforehand to test your ability, axe weight, etc. This was so much fun! The most appealing and gratfying part for me is the axe flying through the air, with safety being top priority at all times. This is a great way to have fun, kick back, and let off some steam! Our instructor (whose name I sadly forgot!) was awesome -- full of energy, super patient with all of us first-timers, and made sure we were safe while still having tons of fun. His tips really helped us get the hang of it quickly! Beyond axe throwing, there are plenty of other fun games to enjoy -- giant Jenga, Connect Four, darts, and even an arcade game or two. We got to throw 3 different types of hatchets and we paid extra to throw knives. Unlike some places, there is no alcohol served here.
