I'm not really into Yoga but enjoyed her class as it wasn't boring and I really felt the workout. The food was all delicious and filling. Even though it was plant based and had no animal products. My wife and I signed up for a couple's massage in the salt cave. Our experience in BC before then…read morehas been that people are very accepting of mask-wearing and much more compliant with proving vaccination status than people in the US. We try to be very careful to minimize risk. I guess we assumed that the folks at the Himalaya Salt Cave would follow along with the compliance of their fellow British Columbians, especially as this is a health/wellness type establishment. Instead, we were surprised to see no mask wearing by either massage therapist upon entering. I inquired whether they were vaccinated and the answer was no. They explained that "salt is anti-viral" and that they are always very careful. We kept our masks on and proceeded to the massage tables. Once we were undressed and ready to go, they asked if we'd prefer they wear masks. The answer was yes-- these are people who were getting in close to us, salt or no salt. The massages were good, but honestly we should have been told up front of their unvaccinated status and they should have followed our lead in mask-wearing. And "salt kills the virus?" Really?!?!

The "nail tech" who clearly has never done a manicure began by sitting through expired polish, explaining that it was the end of the year ans sonw of the polish gets goopy. She then wrapped me in nail polish remover for 15 minutes (no filing), attempted to scrape off the top layer, and then went on to blame my polish for the lack of ease of removal. Her "boss" came in who then attempted to speak down to me, saying OPI was REALLY hard to remove (it's not). She took out the electric file, which was dead. And then took a nail file to my nails with a half assed attempt at salvaging-- it was so clear they had NO IDEA what they were doing, zero clue on nail care or treatment, and kept speaking down to me as if my polish was the problem. After looking at my destroyed nails, I left. I cannot believe their complete lack of professionalism or qualifications- head ANYWHERE else but here.
