We were greeted at our cars by employees with umbrellas who walked with us inside. The impeccable service didn't end there. Every possible detail was attended to here. The venue is gorgeous right on the water with views of Sorrento and Capri in the distance from the decks. The interior is beautifully decorated and spacious enough for a large event. If you live in this area and need a venue Villa Balke is stunning. If you're lucky enough to be invited to a party here you'll have a wonderful time.

Goodness, I have only nice things to say about this place. We stayed here for about four nights…read moreand it was so comfortable. We got the king room and it was gigantic. It is a little hard to get to but if you take the train and get off at ercalano/portici, it is about an 8 min walk uphill. The walk may also be difficult if you have luggage because there is a lot of garbage on the streets and uneven pavement. It is situated in a small town so you will find a lot of local salumeria shops. The staff here were all very warm and friendly. We enjoyed eating at their restaurant too. It wasn't too expensive and fairly priced. Their morning breakfast was great. The outdoor area was lovely. The one tip I have though is that you should wear a lot of mosquito protection because you'll be bitten constantly.

The proposes risotto di mare was extremely good, as well as the polipo alla brace (grilled octopus). The house wine, a classic Falanghina, very enjoyable even if served a tiny bit too cold. The only improvements warmly recommended: 1) the tiramisù wasn't truly a masterpiece and should be taken out of the menu or reinvented. But honestly a more local pastiera could be a much more appropriate alternative especially for visitors from other regions. 2) the television set used to diffuse the music has to go: a black, plastic, cheap flat screen and a pc for music are truly not adequate for such a wonderful place. I definitely recommend the place for events or even for a romantic dinner, especially if taking a room in the adjacent hotel. A note concerning the prices: I wouldn't rate the place as very expensive. The suggested prices are totally justified for the quality provided.
