The original Romanesque Church erected around 1000, with a later gothic vault, still forms the core of the building, upon which Anton Landes (1712-1764) lavished the beautiful stucco decoration we see today.
The church is closed except for services, but Landes' work clan be seen through the protective grill. In the main church the style is white, highlighted with gold leaf, which gets more elaborate the closer it gets to the high altar. The walls and ceilings have fresco panels depicting biblical stories and the lives of saints.
The side chapel is open for prayer and decorated in white, pink and gold, the overall impression reminding one of icing on a wedding cake.
